Can anyone provide info on street circuit racing in NZ?

I'm doing some research on street circuit motorcycle racing for an overseas bike magazine, and while I know a fair bit about the Wanganui and Paeroa meetings, people I've talked to so far have also mentioned street races in places like Nelson, Greymouth and Invercargill, but I haven't managed to find much info about these on the interwebnet so far.
I figured this was the best place to get a bit more info on these events (and other meetings I don't know about); can anyone tell me a bit more about where they are, what classes race, the history of each event and so on?
I'm mainly interested in events held this, last or next year, but if anyone's got some interesting bits of info or history they'd like to share, please do. Fact, opinion, pics are all welcome, but needed fairly quickly.

    Cheers,

    Andrew

Although not strictly a street race the Gladstone hill climb in the Wairarapa is an awesome 2 day event. The 08 event will be a serious affair and worth covering. PM deano on the site for more details.

Yes, Greymouth has run for 18 years and is pretty low key, Nelson is run normally first weekend after new year, there was coverage on Sky3 SportTV tonight from Greymouth

    Thank you

Mark from Performance Bikes magazine in the UK here. Can anyone tell me when the Battle of the Streets meeting in Paeroa is in 2008?

Thanks for all your help, although I have to warn you it's only a small feature.

Hey mate, good mag by the way.

Paeroa is in mid feb, I believe it is the weekend of 17th Feb. But someone else can confirm this.

Paeroa is definately the most exhilirating street circuit in NZ, Wanganui has been around for longer though and is just cool. Paeroa always seems to turn on a stunner for it too. Don't think its ever rained there in the 20 odd years its been running.

I did the 07 nelson street races. What a blast. Parts of the track were pretty scarey.35 bikes funnelled into a space 2 bikes wide was an eye opener

    Paeroa

Is there a pub that everyone goes to at the end of race day in Paeroa?

Yes, but mainly the riders and team. There is an officuall prize giving after Paeroa that people attend, apart from that, the customers have come from all over the place, and need to be getting back home
