Is a thread with lots of talk about street circuit racing around NZ.
"...New Zealanders, for all their faults, have virtues that are precious: an unwillingness to be intimidated by the new, the formidable, or class systems; trust in situations where there would otherwise be none; compassion for the underdog; a sense of responsibility for people in difficulty; not undertaking to do something without seeing it through - "

Hi Chris,
I mentioned it and asked for contact details for a couple of riders. He hasn't volunteered much info, but then I haven't directly asked him for anything either. It'll likely be just a DPS with a 200 or 300 word caption, so I don't need to achieve an Esdaile standard of detail and accuracy, and PB seems to be more about the stories, impressions and personal perspectives of an event than the details anywho. I figured that's what KiwiBiker was likely to supply quite nicely; and they have done; thanks guys.
No worries, Andrew. He can be a bit 'secret squirrel' at times!! He's overseas until 3rd December now anyway, but it may still be worth pumping him for info when he gets back, unles it's too late. Once you get him going, he is a mine of information, all of it accurate.
Hi all,
Mark's small but perfectly formed feature on Paeroa and Wanganui has just been published in the Jan 2008 issue of Performance Bikes. Take a look in the, oh, 3 or 4 months it'll take for issues to arrive on our newstands or blag a look at an airfreighted edition belonging your rich mate. Or you could go hang out in the mag section of Borders in Queen street while you wait for town to get going on a Friday night (no guarantees they'll have it, but their airfreighted/bike section would be worth checking).
There used to be a regular street race in Porirua Wellington, Taradale Napier and Gisborne. Probably the greatest was Gracefield in Lower Hutt when the Marlborough series bought the best from overseas as well as discovering New Zealand talent. How old, don't ask.![]()
