Looks like I could be doing this Grand Challenge stile. Depart Whangarei 5:30am Sun and ride to Taupo and return to Whg the same day (dog and cats need to be feed Sun night) Might be a little esaier if I stayed in AK Sat night. Is there any beds spare

The weather forcast for tomorrow is the same as today, rain. Well I see cloud outside, but no rain. How is it south of the bombays?

The Rain Radar on Sky is showing a heavy band of rain starting to cross Northland. Maybe with any luck it will pass over night?

About 30 Deg in my back yard and hot and sunny. Mind you I am in Hawkes Bay. Just oiled the leathers but my wife has pulled the pin. No way is she sitting in the rain :sneaky2: Looks bad for tomorrow. Oh well make a call in the morning. I note the Twin City Toy run is on here tomorrow. Dam so many things on Toy run in the dry @ 28 deg or Taupo in the rain The oil on the leathers will be a bit yucky in the heat. :sneaky2:

24c down here, weather forecast was for shit. S'funny how they really don't have a frickin clue what's goin' on!

It'd better not rain tomorrow, I've been hanging out for this for quite some time.

Yesterday started out wet in Kawerau, went for a bit of a ride to Tauranga sun came out at Te Puke fantastic the rest of the day all the way back to Rotorua then when headed home around 4:30pm the clouds came over again but stayed dry.

Today has been fine the odd cloud sunny at the mo even gave the bike a birthday ready for tomorrow, yip can make the ride now as I start a new job on Monday. If the weather stays like this the day will be just chipper. Tossing up if I need to take the wet weathers along just in case.

    Blah I am in Taupo

I came down today on my lonesome, and I used the exact route that was proposed from Auckland.

The weather was pretty much perfect all the way, unlike the forecast. Currently in Taupo, 6.30pm Saturday, it is warm and dry.

I have never taken that route before, it is a good one. However the road surface is frequently dodgy, i.e. loose gravel, localised repairs. It was hard to have confidence in the bends as you didn't know what the surface would be like when you got into them. Saying that the last 50 km to Taupo was prefect and in great condition, I think it was the SH30/3 section. Truly awesome.

I saw one cop car the whole time. However I was nearly taken out by an errant sheep that decided to cross the road at the same time I came pass at about 200kmh!

Right logging off, see you guys tomorrow at the track. I'm off to the pub.

Too many late nights and too many early mornings has left me a bit f*cked. If I wake up by 5am tomorrow and it is not raining I'll go. Otherwise I need the sleep

PS: Why is it that when you have told your Girl Friend that your v. f*cken tired and have to get up early the next day (I had a Farrier Seminor on Fri to go to and needed to get up by 5am to get to it in time), that they decide a 11pm that they need to have an indepth dicusion about the relationship Then wonder why you are:
    1. a little testy
    2. not in a mood to talk about it
Oh well, it's just me and "Roxanne" again. She's easier to keep happy.
