Tourettes is a very misunderstood condition, which affects a wide range of people, some of whom also suffer from other physiological conditions. We should try and empathise with their condition, and it is only our reaction to them which prevents them from enjoying a complete and fulfilling life.

As they say, a little understanding goes a long way. For example, there is a little child with tourettes in my daughter's class, who is also mute. But the other children know about her 'problems' and everyone just gets on.
