zakk solo was 13 mins long.

Lordi - I dunno. Not my bag but I stomached it along with a couple of maggot packs, and a few bottles of that plastic Tui shit.

Alice Cooper - The a wife beating baby killling mental bastard. I absolutely loved it. Really well played, sung perfectly, and a really great show. Seamless and professional. Wicked drum solo! Should have been the headliner for sure, and played for longer. In fact, fuck the other two bands... I could have done Alice all night.

KISS - Once again not my bag but I thought the show they put on was well played, good and professional. I liked their stubborn determination to stay with the old school stage show. All in all very impressive in fact. Then again by that stage I was well out of it and somebody hopping around on one leg playing a kazoo and lighting matches might have been enough to stimulate orgasm.

Poison - I was feeling a bit shit from the night before. The last thing I needed was an 80's hair band playing bad songs badly and without proper sound checks done. Even though they had motorbikes on the screen (I was still fizzing after dragging my Hardly out of storage while I was up there and undertaking irresponsibly fun hung over cobweb removal for the first time in a couple of months that afternoon) I couldn't wait for the set to end to be honest.

Whitesnake - I was kind of hoping for a bit of Deep Purple thrown in there but I should have known better. Whitesnake has never been a favourite of mine but still, I really enjoyed the show which was as well played as Alice's only without the theatrics and I would pay to see them again. David Coverdale's singing was right up there (as I would expect!).

Then the main event for me - Ozzy. The act I'd been waiting for for so long. A dream come true you could say. Hoping to hell he'd pump out some Sabbath... and he did. Badly. A shame that the band wasn't close to cohesive, the sound levels were all over the place, Zakk was stuck on the guitar solo for way too long waiting for Ozzy to come back (Mrs. fell alseep during that solo for fuckssakes), and Ozzy's singing was out of time with the band. Bugger. I'm still really glad he came down under but also bitterly disappointed. I expected a whole lot more from somebody who's been in the game for so long. Gutted big time.

Get your arse back over here and do it again Ozzy.

Hear what you say MOM,when a show is promoted and tickets could be scarce you get in quick, especially when travelling.

By the same token when booking, earlier ticket purchase the flights would've been cheaper, than waiting till last minute.Get cheap concert tickets but pay double for flights and then no accomodation.

We were same with Clapton at the mission, tickets sold within 3 hours of opening, next choice tardme, yep paid some dude 4&1/2 times his purchase price, but would I regret it not being there, damn farkin correct.Life is way too short to not do it,hell when is the next time you will see any of these rockers again,if ever.

    To the organisers:
Hey dudes and dudess's have only just got to write a review on this as have had the worst kind of muscle cripling virus known, anyway less of that, other than to say in a true ozzy fashion, it has fucking well really fucking hurt.....

So as for KISS, tired songs, played in a tired way.............I would like to disagree wildly, as,perhaps it was because I was absorbed totally in their atmosphere being at the front......but the warmth that the front crowd generating them was enough to fry an egg on, and I don't think they were tired at all, they buzzed ladies and gents...... in the land of buzzy things, they were kin buzz, so in the most friendlies way to those who thought KISS weren't good, they made my whole concert rock. And they aren'e tired songs man, they are legends in the own right, I would like to see you riding your bike in the same way after 25 years of zooming around............They fucking rocked for me........................

Lordi were extravagantly outrageously funny and very clingon star trekky and for me, went on a tad too long and the songs were samey, so I wonder how long they will last, I don;t think I shall be rushing out to buy an album of their's if I do it will only be coz I watched them at this spectacular event.

Alice Cooper, god that man is a god, was a theatrical experience to sit and get carried through, it was a like a fantastic read unfolding before my very eyes, that guy illuminated the stage, like a comet which has been bursting to get into the atmosphere for years..........he was such a class act and is one of the chosen few to one day sit around my dining room table.

KISS.....well you know my feelings, I could write reems on them, they were engergetic and you could feel they wanted to be there, so much so I bought a flaming guitar in Christchurch before coming home.....look out rock.......(Acousitc with an Amp bit if I want it.

POISON......the male brady bunch, all good times, and very very professional and muscially fab, I loved this group and would buy a poison CD.....yep thought they were great.

WHITESNAKE......I have loved this band for years, and I loved his English Accent...being a pom............but they were pollished to extent of gleaming musical brilliance......I loved ev er second they were on and really didn't want them to end.

OZZY.....Fucking Fun you Insane Rocker,I love ya........what an entertainer, just wanted to grab him and cuddle him, was expecting to get a winey old has been that couldn't do it any more, but was excited and so relieved to see this guy rocking the whole of wellington to breaking point, god that atmosphere was electric. Ozzy if you surf the net to find quotes on yourself, (as I am sure any person would after a night like that), then you are one of the best acts I have ever seen mate, clear and concise brilliance, well done you, wish I could have run into the geezer whilst he was in QTown......oh well mate we shall meet again one day eh.

As for the organised events, I think on a scale of things, it was up there, there are always going to be grumbles, but I thought it was fab.....althought I do agree I would love to have seen those flame dudes, and the burning guitarist as a main act on stage during the interval....although logistically that may have been a problem

I now want to add this to my wish of what to do with lottery winnings. Follow rock concerts all around the world, and rock myslef into oblivion.....what a fucking laugh that would be

Great to catch up briefly with the KBers....sorry it wasnt for long, but a brief encounter is better than now at all, and shall be passing though your great nexk of the woods in November when I do my SOUTH TO NORTH FREE SPIRIT TOUR, if you guys want to tag along for a bit......log already on it.

Haven't got time to spell check or really can't be arsed to take me as you find me.....

    Hugs and stuff

And Well Done Rok 2 Wellington
"I'm gunna hug ya, and squeeze ya, and call ya George!" "Spread the smile and watch it come back at cha" x

Thank you to those who came to the Garstonian Rally 2009, heads up for the 2010 Rally.......

    Talking Oh and...

What I was peed off at Ozzy for was that he did not bring out Lita Ford on to the stage and sing "If I close my eyes for ever". If I would ever have had a tendency to become a groupie, Lita would have been my choice.

Kiss played a good set, I enjoyed it. I am married to a serious Kiss fan, so I know all the words, and I have seen many performances on DVD/Video. They were fantastic! Loved my first Kiss live experience, BUT...

Alice Cooper surpassed anything I expected, infact he made me cry! Have been a fan of his since the early 70's and knew to expect a really OTT theatrical show, but after Eric Singers drum solo it raced ahead of what I was prepared for! Fantastic!

No complaints here I can assure you. We paid good money for excellent tickets, got cheap air fares and accomodation. What a massive weekend!

Now, that is a real shame. I think the concept was good... bring together a few big name "appeal to old bogan, and many younger bogans too" bands in one place at one time rock on! (cant believe I called my self a young bogan there actually) Should have been a sell out! Be a pity if the idea is scrapped, I was already planning a revised artist list for next year.

And can I add AC/DC to the shopping list?

Judas Priest claimed in an interview on the Axe attack they were heading our way. Time will tell.
