    One last thing

In all the time Ive been with KB there is ONE thing that happened that I wish to God (Yes I believe in him im not blaspheming) I had never had anything to do with.
A year ago I had a phone call from a very upset freind of mine.
She was in dire need of money because she had loaned money to a male freind.
Said freind had left her a motorcycle as security -then said if she wanted the money to sell the bike
She is not nor ever has been a biker.
She asked me to sell the bike for her.
    It was a 1980's FZR400 exup
I charged the battery up cleaned out the carbs ,lubed and tensioned the chain and put fresh fuel in it.
I rode the bike on a thursday night ride and it ran fine.I then returned it to its owner other than an oil change that was the TOTAL extent of my mechanical work on the bike
For a bike of its age it looked great and ran well -No nasty rattles
As she requested I then advertised the bike both on KB and Trade me
The bike was purchased by str8 jacket -over the phone and I must say based on my I believe honest assesment of the bike that it was Mint for its age.
EVERY PENNY she paid me went to said freind

Keystone 19 (and I think surfchic) will be able to verify that this is the 100% truth -ie they indipendantly know this person
I had the bike checked for a WOF which it passed with no issues
I was asked toorganise a mechanical inspection
I did indeed unquestionably make a mistake in not telling the buyer NOT to come up to auckland.
I had run out of time to organise a FULL mechanical inspection -I had a mechanic look the bike over but it was no more than a peer around with a torch and a quick ride.
str8 jacket rode the bike to wellington
MANY- comments were made about how fast the bike went and how well it handled
Str8 jacket raised issue with the bike. it had a by then buggered chain and no oil .I was not aware of her lack of mechanical experience. I at this point offered to refund her payment in full for the bike -minus the damage inflicted when it fell over- but she did not want this.I DID send a replacement chain for the bike at my expense.

II NEVER INTENDED TO HURT OR RIP ANYBODY OFF .MY INTENTIONS WERE AS ALWAYS HONERABLE
I REALLY DONT KNOW WHAT ELSE TO SAY OR DO

Str8 jacket I know you will never believe a word I say but Im genuinely sorry the bike wasn't up to your expectations.
Axctually sorry doesnt cover it -It has upset me beyond measure

    This is in reponse to
Frosty ripped me off and as much as it doesnt have anything to do with what has gone on in this thread I believe he is not the angel people think he is and for this reason should not be glorified. I know its controversial but its true. People with integrity dont rip others off.
To see a life newly created. To watch it grow and prosper. Isn't that the greatest gift a human being can be given?

Don't stress Tony - The new owner has got a hell of a bike now OK as well as the curse... Trust me - That bike cost me and Helen PLENTY!!!!!! Its actually pretty fuckin funny how it got sold - it fought to the bitter end to leave my place

Corey - if you ever read this - fuck the $$. I had a BLAST with that bike and I trusted it 100% and it paid me back in spades... Its as fast as fuck and as twice as lucky - all it wants is belief! I'm NOT posting here how it saved my fat arse but thats a hell of a bike and it loves me.. If you ever want rid of it - you know where I am

Pity this issue has not been allowed to die a natural death really. I am sorry that you felt you needed to make this post.

Yeah, but you helped me with my ZZR250 and that ran fine and saved me money thanks to your advice. And you charged me NOTHING in return. Although I used some of your parts.

Then you left your missus on your anniversary to come and help me inspect a CBR250RR when you didn't have to. I enjoyed that bike and it was soo mint that I didn't lose any money when I traded it in.

Then you helped set up the Spanner nights so we could learn a bit about fixing bikes.

Then you helped go pick up crashed bikers in your van on so many times.

Then you let people borrow your van to take their bikes to race meets.

Then you organised trackdays putting your money on the line to start it up so we common folk could get out on the track months before MotoTT, KiwiTrackDays and the like were even formed.

Mate most of us here know what kind of person you are:

Who could blame Frosty if he did withdraw this stuff? No one, so who then?

    Frosty,

I know you well enough to say that although you needed to get that off your chest - you never needed to post that. I know you wouldn't intentionally do anything to hurt another.

You're a bit rough - but then diamonds naturally are.

It's money mate. It has the ability to blind people and remove forgiveness like I've never ever been able to anticipate before. I've sadly seen examples of this first hand in the last couple of months - you try to do good and he said she said gets in the way, the issue at hand gets lost and people start hating each other.

Credit where it's due... I know where to get expert advice and if you ever have the time when I need it I'll be sure to repay you in cash or kind.

Man you have my number. If you ever need to use it, do so without hesitation.

Well Frosty this is a site where you can say your peace so fair enough.

I know you lent jrandom your van when the had a puncture the other week so 10/10 mate.

I think that sometimes we try too hard to help others, like with your Thread and just a thought, but maybe you should think about taking time for you also when stuff like this happens

Frosty, we've never met, but from your KB postings and comments of others you seem to be a decent sort. At the end of the day the Ultimate Truth here swings on your own integrity, and your intentions when selling the bike. Although only you can honestly know what happens inside your own head, the fact that you're upset about this (and what I've heard about your past behaviour) makes me think you're being straight up here. At the end of the day you're probably the harshest judge of yourself.

My 2c, if it's worth that much: go for a ride, have fun with your mates, enjoy the sunshine and good riding weather.... and when you get to that point where you realise (again, no doubt) that shit happens, some people are unreasonable, take some lessons from it if you can or want to, and move on. Hopefully the lessons aren't going to be along the lines that helping others is a bad thing. But I think you're not the type to get all bitter and twisted...

I have known Frosty for a lot of years and will trust him without question. One of the original good guys. Those who know me realise to get trusted / respected like this you have to earn it !! I'm a hard bastard (one of my good points) ...........and, all in all, very pissed off at certain others at the moment, but you know what they say Frosty 'only the good die young'. Just be happy you're a better 'motorcyclist' than your detractors.I suppose I have tonow

When this story first broke I knew there was more to it - there always is when people with limited mechanical knowledge complain. Then I spoke to Frosty in person and got his side of the story....the real story. Then I could read the thread in a different light.

When I used to look after your van Frosty, you could have hung me to dry on these forums many times with the things that went wrong with it.But you have good mechanical knowledge (I know you were a mechanic) and know being an older vehicle that things are bound to go wrong, even things I just so called fixed....it's just the nature of the game, and you know that. But instead you praise me over the forum, thank's.

Paul now knows the full extent of the condition of the bike - he knows that no mechanic giving it a quick appraisal would have a clue as to the full extent of the problems in wait.He knows that no bike shop would have a hope in hell of sending it out the door running well in top condition for just a couple of hundred bucks, and whatever unfortunate bikeshop got the job would of been hung to dry on these forums.Lucky for them no one got the job.

You don't have to explain yourself to me Frosty - but I'd never buy a car off you!!!

Tony, you have the unreserved support of the majority of KBers. The comments posted so far make that pretty clear.

I wasn't there for any of the 'issues' that have been mentioned, but I do know you're one of the good guys, always have been.

I don't know anything about the reasons behind your being fired as mod, but I wonder whether 'some folk' are forgetting the real-world meaning of what goes on via KB. It shouldn't be all about grammar and spelling and things staying rigidly on-topic. Out here there are people with real bikes and real hassles who just want to get on with their motorcycling, and you've always done shitloads to support that.

I also have no doubt that following your explanation, here, many of us have lost some respect for Miss Str8 Jacket. I know I have.

If she wishes to respond to your public statements here, I'm sure we'll read what she has to say, but I suspect that when we see her as a foolish, self-absorbed woman with no understanding of what she's dealing with when it comes to motorcycles, we're quite correct.

Don't disappear or let this shit get you down, Tony. There's too much good stuff to be done and fun to be had.

2 years of riding gives someone enough experience of the world of bikers to enable them to decide what they should or should not do, think and especially say. My the world has changed. From asking for advice to deciding relevance in 2 short years.

Tony, my problem with you was solely because you blatently lied to me and told me that you had got a full prepurchase check done. You told me on SO MANY occasions before I flew up to Akld to get the bike that you had got this done. I even offered to organise someone to come and pick it up from your place and I was prepared to pay ALL COSTS involved but you assured me so many times that it was done and that everything was sweet, I mean I rang you every second day I was so excited bout the bike! At the time I was going out with MrMelon and he heard all of this as well.

When I picked the bike up of you and asked for the paperwork for the inspection you said that you had left it at home but would send it to me. Another problem I had was that after I had flown to Auckland from Wellington the bike had absolutely NO petrol in it and was pretty much empty of oil. The chain was falling of the bike and the sprockets were fucked. Yes I probably should have checked all this beore I left Akld but genuinely though that you were a good guy and I did trust you. Also the bike had no registration label on it and when I went to the post shop it was going to expire in a day or two.... Yes you rectified this and paid for it but you are a car sales man and should have sorted this.

Literally the day after I got back to Wgtn I had to crash start the bike every day. I paid a 3000 for the bike and as it fell apart more and more I then spent another 3000+ on it. The reason I am so f*cked of about the situation is purely because you lied about the prepurchase and never admitted that you had not done it until I posted the"infamous thread". Which made me believe that you may have known that the bike was f*cked. f you had have actually got a prepuchase done as you said you had then I wouldve have just thought I had bought an "old bike" not have been ripped off! I am still paying off this bike and will be for another 5 years that is whay it annoys me. That and you never apologised for lieing to me. This is a good start.
