    Ewwww. Squishy knee.

Attention all medically-aware KBers. This is, well, a bit odd.

Two weeks on from my recent bin, my left knee has a bag of squishy fluid (comprising a hemisphere of about 8cm diameter and 2cm height) floating under the skin above the joint.

I first noticed it at the gym today, as it bounced up and down against my kneecap while I was on the treadmill.

There's no pain associated with it.

Anyone have any experience with or knowledge of such wack-ass goings on? Is it worth bothering my GP to drain it or summat before it mutates into an Indigestible Wad, or will it just go away?

And, to all you inevitable wiseguys who are about to point out that KB isn't a Source of Medical Advice, yes, I know that. But I'd still be interested in hearing any relevant trauma-injury information that might reside in the local hive mind.

    Go get it drained dude.

It will get painfull if you don't. Should probably get it X-Rayed too - when mine did that I had fractured my patella, and there was no pain associated with that either.

Ooooh, water on the knee - you'll be dead tomorrow

I've had water on the knee from a push bike accident I had when I was 14 - it comes and goes over the years...not there now,but has just disapeared after a couple of years stay, will return again?? Worry about it if the joint gets sore.

Jab a Fresh Up straw into it and drain it at work into the waste paper bin - gain some cred...

Squishy fluid leakage is not normal. The fact that it hasn't gone away after 2 weeks is a pretty good indicator that it's not planning to at this stage. Bite the bullet, take out a loan and go and to your local A&E where you can get x-rays done. Not sure what's going on - I just do the initial patchups and leathers cutting off when bikies do the big offskis. And I might add that cutting leathers is bloody hard work and only done when absolutely necessary, so you can all stop whinging when we get our clothing shears out!

More importantly does this mean you'll now have to tell your wife about your gymnastics over the car? Or will she just think you limping around is quite normal?

Best advice I've seen all year. Better yet, wait until Friday so it's a 3 day week.

    Holy sebaceous Batman!

Go get it looked at dude, thats certainly a sign that something needs draining/fixing/removing! It could be a conjoined twin growing inside your knee. Or, one of those lumps with hair and teeth in it
