So why should my tax dollar pay for her obesity problems? Many people think that they have some right to come and live here. They don't. Pity this sort of thing was not done sooner for simular reasons. The health system is rooted as it is with out more 'clogging' the system.

Yes there are a few so called local sites hosted off shore... (including my own) but at the end of the day if I had to have it served in NZ that would be no issue either... could easily and quickly set up my own server here in my lounge...

Just think since NZ would then be on own seperate network... we called reuse all them dot coms... and free up all the ip addresses we could use for ourself... then instead of www (world wide web) it would be nzn (new zealand network) and if an outside line was still connected just dial www instead of nzn... ehhhh who cares... the net is now getting kind of boring... same old shit just different colour website

Well at end of the day anyone who comes into this country could cost money.

Obesity is obvious but there are so many medical issues that are hidden and not tested for immigration so in a way the system discriminates those who show obvious signs.

My ex and I have the SMA gene. Natalie is not even 5 and so far the Govt has spent approx $270,000 on her. A lot more expensive that 'obesity' which is obvious.

It's probably isn't obvious but the overall cost of obesity is a great deal more per person than has been spent on Natalie. It extends to sewerage treatment plants, road surfaces, vehicles loads, fuel expended, furniture construction methods, and so on and so on. The overall cost to society extends well beyond "just" healthcare issues.

So based on Keynes theory of economics, obesity is actually providing more jobs, more spending and more taxes for the Govt, why the argument that smokers are allowed the same health care priveleges because they pay a lot of tax on cigarettes so should not be prejudiced............
