Great work last night everyone!! AND awesome to see the westie ladies there...gasbagging on the sideline both Morcs and Disco! As for Disco being a distraction/hazard with me doing the slaylem and grabbin me rack...yea...took me by surprise!
If you guys think it gets too boring, voice ya opinions to me, drag me aside and tell me what's wrong or flick a pm my way, I keep an open mind, its always good to get feedback, so I can look at ways to improve...I just like to create a relaxed environment....cos we're bikersI dont want people turning up thinking "oh no same old same old Im outa here"
If you find yourself in trouble, or stuck in the middle of nowhere needing assistance Im here! I say that cos Im studying and dont work, so home most days, if you need a pickup due to a bin call me...pm if you want my cell number. Chances are I'll turn up and say "yes the bike is rideable lol"
Ok this upcoming monday, if the weather is good we're going for a ride!! 3 lessons of cornering and emergency swerving is enough for now, as now you lot know what to practise in your spare time...circling and slaylem. It also will show you where you are at, and we can focus on those areas and improve those skills in the next lesson.
Awesome to see with that last circling exercise last night you guys started to push yourselfs....you're doing it at your pace...but safely...that's what I want to see.
Remember....develop your own riding style, no two riders are the same. What works for you on your bike may not work on someone elses bike.
Look at each bike like has its own special powers so to speak. Example -GN's - great for manouvering around cones with ease, where as sports bikes dont have a tighter turning lock but are better for cornering at speed. And respect the bike you are riding.
Relax - it means you are in control of the ride. If you find yourself tensing up, slow down, or try to get safely out of that mode. It can lead to panic, which can lead to binning it.
Enjoy it - because if you are not, what's the point in doing it. Sometimes we can have down days which is understandable, but if you lack confidence and want to work on it...take it slow. Small steps.
If anyone wants some one on one learning, pm me. If there is an area which you want to learn more about I'll try my best to help. If it's something which is not riding safely related, *coughs* stunting or stupid stuff....then yes we will do it away from monday nights. I would much rather be standing at the side of the road and help you pick up your bike, than have you stuck under it alone injured and unable to call for help.
We are all bikers, and there are times when we want to drop the safety guard and try different things to see what our bikes can and cant do.
Just bare in mind that Im not going to promote stupid riding lol
My bass is such a slapper.......I cant stop fingering those strings
Tuck it back in sunshine!
woohoo! we're all world famous now!... or not... just a pity you didnt get a video of the sparks flyin as chocolate got the pegs down on his GN
Ride sounds good Kitty, will be good to put all the things we've learnt to good useplus any excuse for a ride is a good excuse for a ride

IT'S PEANUT BUTTER JELLY TIME!!!
Do the peanut butter jelly, peanut butter jelly, peanut butter jelly with a baseball bat!
Hey Morcs... I really think that vest brings out your eyes ....
Looks like you lot had fun...Sorry i couldnt be there had to encourage the "Team" in the boat races
I've just been given the go ahead with hiring out the Mt Wellington go kart track!!!!
Here's the thing...
Firstly we have to make a donation to the go kart club, as they will be giving me a key, their fee to hire the track is $250 this will be discussed at the next meeting. There is an exception because we are a community organisation, and trying to help other riders, the go kart club supports this and said they will lower the fee to an acceptable donation from us as a group.
Remeber that this is still a voluntary thing and I intend to keep it that way, all proceeds which we raise as a group will go into the Go kart account for track hireage. The more riders we have, the less we can charge per person. I make nothing out of this personally, just to clarify things.
Secondly, THERE IS TO BE NO RACING!! under any circumstances. I can not stress this enough!! Yes we can go fast, but the environment will be controlled...the reasons why??
1 - No ambulance on site.
2 - There are noise restrictions and we have to respect others around us.
3 - I gave Ian my word we would not race therefore he agreed to this.
4 - Dont want to be picking up your binned bikes.
5 - We will loose the privledge of using the track.
6 - There are no avaliable marshals on set points/ corners on the track.
I have to write up a proposal for Ian and get back to him with it in regards to booking the track and what we will be doing on the track etc.
What I propose to you newbies is this...
First Monday of every month we hire out the track, if that's unavaliable, then try for the last Monday of every month.
So give it some thought, ideas, and/or ways to how we can raise money for an acceptable donation (some of us are poor students! *raises hand*) and see what we can come up with.

Sausage Sizzle?
I would be tempted to just get more newbies to join the ranks until it costs us about $10 each, i mean, you get to RIDE on a GO KART TRACK. I'm having trouble comprehending the epicness of this situation. defently worth $10.
ChocolateWheels - Possibly the first (EX) GN rider to overtake a CBR600RR LEGITIMATELY and EX holder of the GN250 Land Speed Record.
Was cool to have a quick JB with you all at miss qs and saw a few new faces. I missed the ride cause I was ummmm watching shorty street and forgot...but ahh shorty streets last week this week so Ill be there next Mon..... Kitty u rock.

ooh... i could get in so much trouble with some ideas then...![]()
nah, i like my head sittin squarely on my shoulders.
i reckon chocolatewheels is on to it, if we can get a reasonable number of people (convince some of the west crew it's worth the ride or something?) we could scratch up a reasonable donation for a fairly low price per head. and for the chance to ride on the go kart track, who wouldn't manage to scratch up 10 or 20 bucks once a month? would have to make it a reasonable start time to make the most of it tho.
if it was sorted to be a definite date (e.g. first monday of every month) i'm sure more people from further afield would make a point of being there.

When you say Go Kart track, do you mean the "entertain the kids for 10 minutes/ 20 second lap" Go Kart Track, or the real deal, "Race track built for dwarves"?
If it's the proper deal, count me in.
"It would be spiteful, to put jellyfish in a trifle."\m/ o.o \m/
i havent had a real good look at it in the daylight, but she sure aint no 30 seconds a lap indoor thingie. it takes up like a few square blocks worth of space outdoors, guessing it would be full size race track if you're 4 foot tall driving a chainsaw powered shopping trolley
