They did the same shit to people who had left the military. It makes sense, that they are short of experience, so put the feelers out to people to see if they can be roped in. Even if one person says yes then sweet thats instant experience they have gained.

Why do people think that bothers cops.

The amount of dumb f*%k losers that think they can rile up a cop by calling them a pig is simply astounding.

To me its just a reliable mechanism by which I can identify half wits that are simply here to steal other people's oxygen.

Surely it was a joke ?

What if ACC paid out a lump sum back in the day for a "non specific" back injury, you know the type I mean.........

Then, miraculously, your back became well enough years later to do physical labour again - would ACC ask for the payout back, or a % of it ?

and the best thing about that is that there's a number of options available:

    1. ignore
    2. 'really? you're under arrest'. for what? you may ask....geez where could i start - ex team policing so have a multitude of dodgy life annoying charges i could lock you up for :0
    3. call you a loser in front of your mates.

disclaimer # the whole sniff sniff bacon thing and being called a pig never worried me, and the above are just in jest. well #2 was anyway.....#

actually, it's like the PERF - the $$ is there to help you rehab from the injury, and maybe move into another career/job.

once the injury has been dealt with, with assistance from any payout, why shouldn't the person be clear of that debt?

But some injuries are never dealt with, such as 'non specific back injury' - maybe I've heard wrong but cases where people claim back pain, which was always difficult to verify, and signed disclaimers where they could not return to normal physical duties and received a large lump sum.

Or the example of the fairly high up, desk bound cop that perfed, then went to what any reasonable person would consider a more stressful job.

I'm not cop bashing, but on the face of it, it appears to be a bit of an easily corrupted system doesn't it ?

(Just like a lot of back pain payouts)

..... Just wondering if you have been considering re-joining the Police' bizzare.
You could say, "Yeah, as long as I don't have to do any of that traffic offence quota revenue gathering bla bla bla" or "Yeah, as long as I get the resources to actually do my job without out my family carrying the burden of all that stress and frustration"

Yeah but even if you didn't have thick skin riding a proper bike puts everything unpleasant in perspective.
