Thats actually real pretty. This old guy gave me some bits off his plants years back, I always thought they were succulants. Well apparently they are actually a type of cactus. (who knows) But they get the most beautiful bright red flowers, I have one that even comes out like a shiney purple colour and the ends of the petals go into a deep red.

It has done well considering it made it through the winter outside on the deck the whole time...

Yep, hard to find. And you need a good 'foot' long length per person too...

...then you use a cheese grater and grate it up in a pot. Boil it for a few hours and serve....

*dont talk to me about drugs!!* hehehe

I have tried that cactus thing when I was younger. Snapped off some guys cactus and sprinted off down the road with it tucked under my arm. Not good! The boiled result however was very interesting and, I seem to remember, quite memorable! The downside tho was the awful taste of a teacup full of this thick green, foul smelling snot-like substance, that left a residual effect of making a lot of food seem to smell the same for WEEKS afterward!
    Anyway, we have flowers too!
