Life Insurance - How young were you?Hey

    Hey guys,
I am gonna get a life insurance policy next week. The reason for this is that in the past three months two of my mates have passed away (We're only 17) . so my question is, How old were you when you first got life insurance?
Policy is gonna be paying the funeral bill and then a bunch of charities as I have no dependents. (Not that I have any plans on leaving soon)

    Matt

To laugh often and much; to win the respect of intelligent people and the affection of children; to earn the appreciation of honest critics and to endure the betrayal of false friends. To appreciate beauty; to find the best in others; to leave the world a bit better whether by a healthy child, a garden patch, or a redeemed social condition; to know that even one life has breathed easier because you have lived. This is to have succeeded

Only for dependents....so if you haven't got any why bother?
Open up a savings account instead.
I had one only when I was bringing up 3 kids/mortgage etc.
Kids and mortgage are gone, so life insurance is gone to...no point tempting the old girl...

Got mine when I got my house and mortgage, so my partner could keep it if the worst happened.

If it's just for funeral costs, it can't cost much each month can it?

I'm guessing he'd prefer only the fees.
