    Watson: Guilty or innocent?

In light of a police officer coming forward in the belief of Watson innocent and the couple that recently made a statement to the effect that they saw a boat resembilng the mystery ketch I thought a poll her on Watson's innocent or guilt might be interesting. I'll run it for 14 days.

So say what you like innocent guilty don't know.

SW is no angel....but he didn't do this one. Never thought he did, actually. Too much conflict of 'evidence' to facts.
Do you realise how many holes there could be if people would just take the time to take the dirt out of them?

Too many deficiencies in truth, people have stated he was /wasn't at the bar depending on the police, and the ketch is the biggie, proven that it couldn't get the places in time frame.

SW certainly isn't someone I'd want for a neighbour but at the time of the trial I thought what a bleedin frame up.

Purely cos an experienced water taxi driver and the other yachties no doubt live and breath boats and can tell the difference between a ketch and a whatever it was.

A bit like a witness saying they were picked up in a ute and the police saying, no it was definitely a hatchback, you were completely wrong in what you think you saw.

I'd thought about the Sensing Murder possibilities too, I'd be curious to see how good those psychics were on this one. I wonder why they don't have an attempt?

Don't know if this ex-cop's revelations add any weight - sounds like he has his knickers in a bunch with his former employers if you ask me.

Rather than guilty or innocent, I would argue "not proven". I believe that the jury in this case convicted on burden of proof, rather than beyond reasonable doubt. Given many revelations/allegations about the Police investigation, presentation of evidence and good old spin doctoring, I think there are enough grounds to warrant a retrial.

No bodies, no motive, no weapon, no credible/reliable witnesses, no evidence: all sound a bit like an unsafe outcome to me.

Read the book you directed me to Skyryder and i ticked dont know in the options but still, guilty or not i sincerely hope they keep him where he is as the guy is a worthless sack of shit and i for one dont mind them using the money i contribute every week via taxes to keep him well banged up.Let him out and someone sooner or later will suffer some form of misery because he exists, probably more so now as being banged up (again) has only added fuel to his "the world owes me theory".And yes before the tree huggers chime in i have met him.

    I concur.

Put "I don't know" because, although he may have done it, I don't believe he should have been convicted on the evidence.

    1) They will not be allowed to have an attempt, Uncle Helen will see to that.
    2) SW was convicted by the media following hollow rhetoric by Hope's father
    3) Inspector Hutton is alive and still active on this case
    4) I suspect Peter Ellis and his coven, in his dungeons, were the real culprits

i agree....i will never understand why, if you're innocent of a crime, why not make a song and dance about it, fuck it would!...he has never said a thing, i dont trust the prick at all, but that does not make him guilty of Murder. Take Auther Allen Thomas?...perfect example.

Good question. One that I have never bothered to answer. I suppose deep down I have never liked any kind of injustice. Had a bit in my life but never anything on the scale of what Watson has had to go through. I had doubts on Watson right from the start and after seeing the doco on this it just reinforced my doubt. After reading the book it wasn't that Watson was innocent but the way that the evidence against him was both collected and presented to the court. This sorta struck a chord. I was in the area when the Ashburton girl went missing on New Years Day. I never saw a thing so realy had no reason to report my presence to the Police. A friend of mine talked me into going so I duly trot off. I will never volunteer to do that ever again. Instead of given the respect of helping the police to identy my vehicls I was treated as a suspect. Not in so much as what was said but the manner in which I was questioned. It was a thoughly uncomfortable place to be. Once the police 'convict' you then they look for the evidence and in watsons case this was manipulted to suit them. Would rob Pope be second in charge with spending all that mony and no conviction............I don't think so.

Passion.............yep passionate about a lot of things. I blame my star sign

So in effect you have your doubts but on the basis of what you know about him you believe he should stay where he is as you see him as a worthless sack of shit. Makes sense to you...... but as a tree hugger I just shake my head in bewilderment.
