Or we all could go to the Pizza Barn in Waipu (blood good food place that) and the riders who wanted a longer ride (with twisties) could go the Waipu Cove - Mangawhai Heads - Te Hana route, and the others could go back over the Brynderwyn and meet us at Wellsford.
Personally the less time on the Waipu/Ruakaka Straights for me the better, so I'm not kean for Waipu - Oakliegh section. The Waipu/Ruakaka Straights are Long, Straight, have heaps of Cops (have counted as much as 5 on 1 pass of those straights) = very slow and too much traffic (all the AKers trying to get to BOI's), which all adds up to dead boreing. It's bad enough that I have to go along there to get to this, let alone do it as a ride.
Yeh,know what yer saying(the last time we rode up the straights we counted 5 too),but that maungatoroto>oakleigh rd is f****n cool.Maybe we could go up that way,the slower guys could go straight to waipu,we do the loop and putt back down sh1 to waipu and catch up on the waipu>mangawai>wellsford leg....
Alternately, maybe go up tehana>mangwhai>waipu, then turn around and come back down >mangawhai>wellsford.....
I,m really not that keen on SH1 either.....just love that oakliegh rd....

Myself and Draco and maybe a couple of mates will do the toy run and the ride, but we've already got another appointment for the p.m.,so we'll prolly split off at old north on the way back....(need to be home b4 6)
O.k.,I think the plan'll be to go from the gasser>old north>wellsford>mangawhai>waipu, then we'll see how we're looking for time.
If it's still early we'll do the oakliegh loop(we could go over the brenderwans and to mugatoroto then go up the oakliegh rd,turn around and come back to mungatoroto>waipu then back,or if times getting tight just straight back to wellsford from munga's),if not head back down to mangawhai>wellsford>Parakai?(suggestions?)

Ant/jess/RIB,it'd be nice to do 22 or something, but it takes 45+ mins to cross auckland to get there after the run,and another hour for you guys to get back to the pools from the south end of the motorway...

It looks like I've scored some time off from the new job by agreeing to a shift change. Lucky me, question, anyone bringing their kids or kid to the bbq as I've a keen HR Jnr who wants to go for a ride to the toy run and BBQ. If there are no other kids going I may leave him at his friends place who he hasn't seen for a while.

Technically I'm younger than my kids now
HR Jnr isn't too little he's 13, took him to Cold Kiwi now he want's to go with me on other rides. There are also a couple of younger sisters who are just as keen. The older kids are way too busy with life to even consider coming for a ride these days. It's a good chance to get out and have a special time with one at at time.

I will be coming from West Auckland on the day.....and I see other riders come from this area.....

As to doing the ride afterwards.... I will see how I feel on the day....
I've been ill, so will play it by ear on the day....

Tossing up whether I should come down Friday night (so I will not have to get up too early on Sat). Is there a bed @ your place Tony? Best meeting Place for those of us coming North/West way would be at the Massey/West Gate Service Stat.
