New GPX Tire

Alright so I'm in the market for a new tyre, the current has got its third puncture (first two were nails at the same time). Also, after a few hard corners it (I think) over heats and doesn't want to turn anymore, which nearly caused me two accidents. One involving a bus :P

So can anyone recommend a damn good tyre for a GPX 250, that will also hold in the rain? Have a budget of maybe around $200.
