It's relevant because eventually his name will come out, and generally the age, race, location, and employment status help differentiate the offender from others that share his name. e.g. John Smith, 25, caucasian, a builder, was charged with child molestation, gives a lot more comfort to other John Smiths I expect...

How will it give more comfort to other John Smiths?

Do they read the name in the paper and wonder "Is that me??"
Surely it only comforts other John Smiths who wake up in a Police cell and think "Christ, thank F**k it's not me... I'm a plumber!!"

Obviously another John Smith, reading about the apprehension of a John Smith, is not going to think it's him. However, publishing the guy's race, age and occupation will help alleviate the awkward questions from friends and family about whether or not it was their John Smith who was arrested.

    Not very hard.

    Not very hard at all

Romeo, you'll be pleased to know that there were so many people at the court this morning that they had to close the court off from the public, too many people wanting to give this guy a hard time, and making a hell of a lot of noise doing it. He's been remanded, and has entered no plea. He won't forget his ride in the paddy wagon out of the courts up the ramp though, there was a fair few banging on the outside of the van

No you are quite correct... "Not very Hard"...

What if you were (by no fault of your own), the son or daughter of the bloke who has just been fully identified? That's a bit harsh.

Then you're not accused of murder or under any suspicion what so ever...

But I must say I hope he hasn't got any kids. It wouldn't be a lot of fun being them right now.

And as someone said - let the courts do the judging!

    Obviously..

The worse thing is that this happened in the 1st place.

Hopefully it IS him and he is off the streets.

But I think that by fully disclosing all his details is just adds to the anguish.

PS With a user name like Romeo I can understand why you're such a bitchy drama queen.
Somehow I'm not offended at all by your comments, funny that. I think you'll find that I wasn't targeting the original topic, rather the hijackers who were posting derogatory comments about someone I considered a friend. In my fit of rage I probably didn't articulate that fully in my original post - criticism noted.

HOWEVER, the personal attack was totally uncalled for man.

PS: Police have done an amazing job throughout and it's now up to the courts to decide.

The Police did do their job well.

    Anyway, next topic.
