Ha, another great idea! I never knew having business cards could be so good!

It's the only thing my business cards (the ones work give me as opposed to my own Avon ones that I chose to have made up) are useful for - given that the company is so strict with budgets...and so short staffed...oh, and see me as not worth the time or effort now that I'm pregnant...and won't allow me trips around the country to network with the guys I look after!!!

Ok handy dandy tip to winning things in those "business cards in the hat" things...

Pull the card out and just before you drop it into the hat/bucket/bowl/whatever, put a crease in it.

Picture this - get the card and fold it in half so the fold crosses the shortest axis (i.e. 1/2 way down the longest side). don't stand there and fold it before you put it in though - a bit obvious. Learn to quickly crease it across the back of your index finger just as it goes into the bowl.

It forms a little "teepee" in the bowl and when hands go in looking for somethig to pick up it's a lot more likely to find their fingers... trust me on this one
