    gpx riders...

has anyone looked into switching the twin for a 4?? i noticed that there is alot of wasted space under the fairings and with a few modifications would it be possible to put a bandit or cbr engine in??

    Its not impossible, nothing is.

Ive helped out with some pretty crazy conversions in cars, but never bikes.

Main thing would be making engine mounts and getting the driveline/gearshift all in the right places.

It may mean cutting out a lot of frame if the front sprocket and gearshift is in a bad spot on the gearbox.

Anyone who can post some pics up of the 2 motors in and out of (original) frame if possible???

What would be the reason for doing this?

Seems like a lot of money and fuss...

don't worry about it aye... for too many reasons to list...

why don't you like the Kwaka twin? The motor and the bike go hand in hand, in other words really you don't like the bike?

Btw what's happened since you've debaffled the cans? and how did you manage to put them back together? do you have to saw off the lid and re-weld it?

I notice (or don't notice) my exhaust it's so quiet

Why not something like a GPZ550 or something. Stil a twin in similer fairings just with a bigger engine.

to debaffel it all i had to do is drill out the pot rivit thingys and the baffel just came out. and thats how i left it. they have to go back in to get a warrent aparently. the guys in the shop said its to loud to get a warrent.

also since having the baffels out its a killer on the top speed but it seems to give alot more grunt in the lower revs... does way better wheelys now.

i like the twin but just wondering what the bike would be like with a 4.

Thats interesting to know.. so when you drill out the pop rivets out does the lid come off and does it go back on?? do you need to thread it and pop bolts in place of the old pop rivets? I'd love to try it but don't want it ending up looking like a little black tube inside the middle of a big gaping hole.

an ex500 will drop straight in apparently
put some decent suspension/tyres on it, and you'll love the thing to bits.

I ran into this a while ago

    http://faq.ninja250.org/wiki/I_want_...ne_in_my_Ninja

I think any advice along these lines should be sought from this page.

Blunt but true... Sorry!!!!! Besides this is your bike, don't turn it into a project that gets on the road once a year. It says GPX with flames, that means it's a very recent model... In the garage in bits is no place for a new bike lol...

Just ride it, love it, get your full, get a new bike

the black cap is attached to the baffel all you need to do is drill out the rivits and pull the baffel out. i was going to make a plate to go where the baffel is rivited onto the can so it looks like its standard but i dont realy see the point.

and no i dont want to hack up my bike lol i was just wondering if anyone had looked into it.
