I would like to take this opportunity to thank Kiwi Rider, from the bottom of my heart, for the free advertising space they have generously donated to this really important cause. I do hereby declare that my faith in that magazine has now been restored, with their advertising of this event in the magazine currently on the shelves as we speak. Ruffled feathers now lookin smooth again. Aaaahhhh.
ALSO... (drum roll needed - I'm not kidding -)
New Idea Magazine have today very very generously offered to fully sponsor a rider to come on the Herceptin Peaceful Protest Ride. This sponsorship can include a pillion, and there is enough in the pot to cover the Cook Strait if the eligible rider has to come from the South Island, so anyone wanting to come who hasn't been able to raise sponsorship may be eligible, as long as you meet New Idea's criteria. Details are on the website, but do check it out because its the sort of opportunity that can literally turn someone's life around for the better.
If time off work is a problem, it might not hurt to ask your employer if they will pay you for the week off, as their contribution to this hugely important cause. If they say no, look them in the eye and, with every ounce of seriousness you can muster, tell them you hope they or someone they love never gets breast cancer, because if they do, its, like, WELCOME TO HELL!
