'03 CBR 250!

yeh i think the newest bike (not new new but as close as you can get) are the cbr250's. But other than that i don't think a lot of new bikes arer brought in. If you just won lotto i suppose you could talk to a manufacturer about what the newest bike you could bring in would be. But you'll probably end up spending the same amount as a k1 or k2 600 hahahah

As for that 400. HOLY CRAP thats awesome. How much do they retail? Maybe get that once I've got my full licence. Or get one, slap on some 250 stickers, and the cops wouldn't know the difference.

Havnt tried myself, but get some bloody good rubber, and take it in small steps..... if your steps are too big, your crashes will be too big.....

Any reccomendations for some good rubber? Also I won't be too gun-ho when I first get on the road. I also hope to race it at manfeild sometime so I'll keep the speed for the race track instead of the streets.

Dunlop GPR-70's... dont know the exact price... most likely around $400....

Anything that's not a sport tourer tyre . But seriously i ran a gpr80 (dunlop)on the back and an mtr01 (pirelli)on the front all up fitted was about $470. They stuck like shit all the way to the edge of the front pity the rim doesn't stick to the road to well . But i was really thrashing the zxr250 before i upgraded and buy thrashing i gon't mean giving it shit in a straight line it's all about learning to push it's balls off through any road hahaha. Plus on the 250 you'll be able to whip som of the igger bikes throught he twisties

Is a FZR 250 very sluggish by the way? Or is it got some good power?

If its anything like my cbr250 it won't get too sluggish until about 150km/h. You'll be able to drag most road cars off quite easily.

I'm running Pirelli mt75s on my fzr, seem to work well. My fzr has pretty good acceleration, my friend on his zxr accels a bit faster but my bike is running extremely rich at the moment. (100k's to 10 litre tank, you can hear it gurgle as the cylinders flood).
