    Ahoy hoy (MDR2)

    Gidday all, Names Daniel.

Not exactly a legal rider yet. As of yet only have limited experience on a bike... suffice to say brief blats on a tr50 and GT50 in a car park would be about it. The GT50 was abandoned at work and no one wanted to claim it so I took it under my wing and decided to get it running again. Still a few issues but getting there ever so slowly.

With a few minutes practise with the GT under my belt I felt i was ready to have a go on a Bucket bike around Mt welly go kart track the other week friend loaned me a bike and leathers and let me go for it... what can I say, I'm totally hooked. I'm a car person through and through but this was something else. Could I go as far as to say I had a revelation?

I'm very keen now to get my bike license and hope to hell I can land an RG150 for a first bike (dreams)

Anyways, Hello to all and good to meet you. Hopefully one day in the future I'll be tagging along for a ride.

    Regards, Dan

    Welcome!
2-stroke 150's are great little bikes to learn on
And they don't seemed to be priced as crazily high as 250's are.

    Welcome Daniel,
Looks like your good turn to the sad little GT50 is going to change your whole life.
Enjoy the site and I will look forward to reading that you have achieved your first bike.
    I ride for the love of it . . . . .

No, sorry - we've got way too many Daniels on here already. But if you change your name to summat a bit more uncommon, like Rupert, or Wlberforce, or maybe even Engelbert, then there's a place for you here on Kiwi Biker, A site for all New Zealand motorcyclists, except those called Daniel or Dan.

But, in the expectation that you're even now heading off down to the registry office to change your name to Tarquin, welcome to Kiwi Biker! :spudwave:
    ... and that's what I think.

    Or summat.

    Or maybe not...

    Dunno really....

Glad to hear you are loving the two wheels! I think there are a couple of other KBers in your local area (Sleeper/Maverick).

So what progress have you made so far?

Gah! I tore the valve on the inner tube on the rear tire. The fuel tap is leaking and I think the float is dodge. SO... one step forward three steps back. However! I have been making headway in clearing out the garage of junk and clutter and should soon be able to afford a RG150 or FXR... give you one guess which i'd rather the most

Then it's off to the station to sit the test. Seems a backwards way of doing things doesn't it? Makes sense to me.

What kinda rides are Sleeper and Maverick on? I'll keep and eye out for them.

update: Scored a Rg150E today, epic 12 hour journey all the way from Auckland to Ashhurst in a v8 commy ute. Heaps of fun with a good mate many laughs were had and way way way excited about the bike.

Little rough around the edges but for 1800 it's a good buy I believe.

    pics sooooonnnn
