Puncture Repair Kit

How many people carry a puncture repair kit with them when they ride? I used mine for the first time this weekend and it worked a treat. I was able to use the air at the garage, so didn't have to waste my co2 cannisters. This would rate as one of my best bike gear purchases. I'm interested in other peoples opinions!

Well I don't have one and neither did the other two guys I was riding with yesterday so I had to bring the bike home in a van at great inconvenience to others.

some kind biker lent me a "plug" from his kit a year ago saving me from a day of hassle getting home and back to the bike. I went straight out and bought one after this. Maybe I'll pay it back to someone else at some stage.

"Dog Turds" have got my bike home on many occasion, so yep I always carry a Tubeless tyre repair kit. The "Dog Turds" are good but it is always good ta get the tyre repaired properly as soon as ya can with a tubeless tyre repair boot (which will last the life of the tyre).

Always carry one now after puncturing at Te Araroa and riding back to Whakatane on a tyre pando (made it though).

I just scored one myself for free, I was given it. Never actually had a need for one but I guess its going to be bloddy handy when that day arrives!

Yep, wouldnt go out without the Innovation Co2 kit, make sure u get the kit with the cannaster holder and also make sure u have at least three bottles 16b or bigger for road bike tyre, I think its the ATV kit, can even get onethtas a bottle inflator and hand pump if all else fails.. After 2 serious blow outs while traveling at excess speed, yes I carry one as it was too hard pushing 173kgs of bike for 20km to the nearest town...

Only thing was I had another serious blow out and almost binned it in a corner so managed to pull over safely, pulled out the new repair kit, only to find the valve had snapped of and I was fucked either way!!

I got mine from Phil Turnbull Motorcycles here in Palmy a couple of months back (just in case). The kit I got is a "Thumbs Up" kit which cost about $50-$55 and fits snuggly under my seat. It comes complete with instructions, 5 dog turds, 3 co2 cannisters and fitting tools. As far as I'm concerned, it's already paid for itself.

Having a medical condition that prevents me from pushing motorcycles up steep hills *cough* laziness *cough* I prefer to always carry an innovations kit!

I carry a first aid kit and a puncture repair kit all the time.

Never had to use either yet. Thank Christ.

Last year was riding with some friends when one got a screw through the back tire and things got a little wobbly for him.

He also has a repair kit like mine.

So out came the kit, had a quick read of the instructions (No one in the group had ever used one), identified all the components and 20 mins later we where on the road again.

The repair got him from south of Danivegas to Broomadale probally 150kms or more.

I was impressed.

I always carry a 1st aid kit and basic tyre kit. (ie no CO2 cannisters) Instead, I also carry a foot pump in the top box. Thanks to Murphy's Law, I've never needed any of it because i've got it.
