Can someone tell me what this is?

This 'direct power system' thingy was attached to my bikes battery. Can anyone tell me what is is? I asked an auto sparky and he said it might be a regulator to reduce voltage spikes. Photos are attached. It's pretty light, not sure if it does anything at all.

    Google is your friend.

The stupidity of suckers who spend money on products aimed at the 'voodoo chicken' vehicle tuning market never ceases to amaze me.

But not only that, it's "New Technology", and "High Performance". Being Version 2 (with the New! IMPROVED!! red sticker), it's also got all the bugs ironed out.

I want one, but I'll wait for version 3.x, which is rumoured to have the latest Snake Oil cooling system.
    ... and that's what I think.

    Or summat.

    Or maybe not...

    Dunno really....

Yep. Definitely a black box with some cable looped around in it.

Yes, batteries are well known for producing voltage spikes.

Well, the "Performance" section of parts (car or bike), obviously.
After all, it does say "High Performance" on it, innit?

I see the boys are being ever so helpful..............

The way I see it, is that if it came hooked up to your bike, then never question its use and just leave it there..... it is there for a reason..... and what that reason is, we may never ever know.......

Or else go and ask a bike sparky.......

    I could mock, but I won't.

Did you read what I linked to, crashe?

This particular item does nothing. It's pure snake oil; a device that has no effect whatsoever, which was sold by a ripoff company that only operated for a few weeks in each of its target markets.

Any decent workshop will have a full understanding of the electrical system of the bikes they service.
