The Meanies' Excellent Adventure. Part one

With brand new Avon storms on the ZG that needed to be scrubbed in so what better way than a bit of a road trip. Had a concert in Auckland to go to so Mrs meanie and i packed the panneirs and strapped the old seat bag to the carrier. Loaded to the gunnels we headed off toward Auckland via vineger hill where we in no time caught up to mr and mrs mouse who were trudging there way to the same concert in thier cage not sure why when he has a perfectly good bike in the shed. Got a little hungry about Tiahape so it was into gumboot manor for some B&E for breakfast where eventualy we were joined by the mice.Awesome place to stop for a feed if your hungry. All fed up we were on the road again and on our way to one of my favourite bit of roads, eight mile. Stopped in Taumarunui for gas and a cold drink, it was getting hot by this time. Eight mile rocked as always and i had just started getting used to my new tyres The concours seemed to love the extra weight, and new tyres she dug into the corners with absolute confidence. Meanie is very happy with his Storms
Tekuiti came up reasonably quick then onto Oturahonga and Ngaruwahia via Pirongia which is the western side of Hamilton. Awesome roads over that way with no long boring straights, just loads of long sweeping bends. Had a Sabaru right on my heals all the way through there, passing every car i passed, he seemed to be enjoying tailing us. Lost him at Ngaruwahia when we got into a bit of traffic Had a wee altercation with a silly b**ch merging who decided her old piece of shit should have the right of way just because she was bigger, so i obliged and swerved to miss her but accelerated to passed and then proceeded to give her a friendly wave On to bombays without any more dramas where we had a well needed rest and chat to the sabaru driver who caught up and introduced himself as a fellow biker, turns out he has a bandit at home.

    Part Two

We left bombays and headed to the big smoke up the motorway and with Mrs meanie giving directions managed to take the right off ramp and with a couple of dodgy lane changes managed to find our motel. Rocked up to the entrance still on the bike and slowed down where the parking attendant got all excited at the prospect of parking my bike, but no it was never going to happen. parked the bike close to the elevator so i wouldnt have far to go to keep an eye on it.
Went to the concert at the Vector arena (lionel richie) yea i know im showing my age now, It was blardy good Went for a walk the next day round Auckland and came across an RF that looked like yods twin
Left Auckland Friday morning and headed towards Tauranga Had to do a ride down to the viaduct and get a photo of something worth more than i will earn in a lifetime before we left. We had decided that since the weather was so good we would go right round the coast
Managed to stumble our way through the back blocks of Auckland to find Howick and beyond. What an awesome ride down through to Thames, sure beats the motorway. Nearly in Thames and i get a jab from behind and the wife pointing at the side road, pulled over to discover we were right beside a bendon sale, bugger me and here i was thinking we took the bike so we didnt have to do too much shopping, at least what she brought didnt take up much pannier room
Pic 1 Safe in the car park and off the mad Auckland streets........ Pic 2 Whats Yod doing here.......... Pic 3 Talk about bad colour coordination.......... Pic 4 & 5 Sighhhhhhh, couldnt even afford the mooring fees............ Pic 6 Makes the boat look a little better eh
