    wee little compression

    hey

    Our generator at work stopped working 'cause its a facist. Fourstroke 50cc thing,

    Anyway, i cleaned up the plug and made sure it had spark, still nothing, checked carb, still nothing. Hmm, did a compression test and it says about 3.5 bar... Whats the correct rating for a little engine like this?

    3.5 bar is about 52psi...
    sounds a bit low

    Pull the muffler check for piston damage,sounds like straight fuel may have been used
    if it don't smoke its crap

    straight fuel was used, seeing as its a four stroke and all. Cheers for the idea though

    As you know the static test without knowing the norm is a bit of a head scratcher. Does sound low but it is a genny too. Does it leak down?
