    Toast Martinborough

Anyone going to this? I'll be there, I've got no idea what to expect, hope it's not entirely boring. Weather looks ok. May pop into the Flying Fish, and get my Bowl Latte fix, which I have been missing for 1 month, 18 days!

Lisa and a bus load of her mates and others will be going there. I hope you like drinking lots of wine. If it is looking like good weather take hat, sunglasses and sunscreen because it can be brutally hot.

btw when do you get your bike back?

A word of warning to the unitiated:

STAY THE FUCK OFF THE HILL DURING TOAST MARTINBOROUGH

There are a number of tour buses frequent the hill during this time of year and they all seem to leave a ridiculous amount of diesel on the road, especially on the corners.

Also the cars breaking down leave coolant overflow on the hill, the trucks churn up the road and to cap it all off there are a lot of drunk people making their way back from Martinborough.

please... be careful if you are riding your bike over the hill.

Every year it's the same - someone posts here that they highsided after hitting diesel on the way over the hill.

And every year we read the thread and hope that we won't one day have to hear that someone died because of the shit all over the road.

Be really careful this weekend guys and gals.

Hope you don't think I'm being overdramatic. I'm just sick of hearing the bin posts every bloody Toast Martinborough weekend.
And I to my motorcycle parked like the soul of the junkyard. Restored, a bicycle fleshed with power, and tore off. Up Highway 106 continually drunk on the wind in my mouth. Wringing the handlebar for speed, wild to be wreckage forever.

My Dad goes to it every year to help replenish his Cellar. They do the train thing though, makes sense if your planing on sampling a little here and there.

I was a marshall on the rally; the police shut off all junctions on the route, it was a blast

Mrs H and I had a very slow trip (stop, start, unbelievably) back over the hill last night. Buses for Africa. A couple had stopped in some awkward places to let passengers regurgitate pinot noir. No sign of diesel spills.
