Iwill, I will! I have yet to see a photo I could use as a background, I was hoping Rashika would post some.

Use the KB logo, get Spanks permission.

Then design a South Island scene around it like last years Mt Cook one, then just add the date each year! Sorted. Cheers John.

Well we made it! Was awesome to meet you all!!! I had the best time ever and didn't want to come home.

There's a few people I have to thank....Jen for putting in a huge effort organizing the Do, dangerous and Rashika for putting us up for the night, Oldrider for fixing my tent when my pole broke(will post your little doofa back to you) Doc for talking me into doing the trip and being an awesome traveling companion and the perfect gentleman.
Was friggin awesome to meet scumdog & CB, xknuts, Shrek & Mrs Shrek, helenoftroy, FlyingDuchman, South3rn Rid3r, Subike and everyone else I met.(sorry if I missed anyone...I think I left my brain on the Mainland) You folks ROCK!! I was a bit sad getting on the ferry to come back to the hustle & bustle of the Norf island. Very seriously want to move down there.
Thanks to all for a great time. Would do it again in a heartbeat.

    Home again...

Well, CB and I are back at Chez Scumdog again, safe and sound (well apart from the bee-sting I got riding down from Tarras) after covering 2,297km.

After staying with Mongoose we headed east due to the damp weather on the Coast, got a wet arse going over the Whangamoa and Rai saddles but fine weather and a cheese-board-and-wine near Blenhiem saw us right.

We headed on down past Kaikoura and more dampness but picked up a cray and a bottle of wine and stayed in the jail-house at Cheviot (No shit, a 1906 wooden jail-house is a bunkroom at the camping ground!) and had ourself a wee cray-and-wine feast.

Next day headed south, breaky at the Mainline Cafe near Dommett, well worth a visit, off inland at Amberley and lunch at Jo Seagars cafe (trust CB to know Jo Seagar had a cafe in Oxford!) weather was ranging from so-so to crappy so we we headed on to Pleasant Point for the night and stayed at ye olde pub, garage across the street allowed us to bed out Harleys in their workshop, top hospitality!

Up this morning and weather looked like it was on the improve so inland it was - man, when you climb up the hill over the hill a bit after Burkes Pass and see the Southern Alps in the distance, the day is warm and sunny, you have a tail wind, the smell the roadside lupin flowers is almost overpowering and the bikes are purring along and you're with the one you love you just know this is what Heaven must be like!!

What a trip through the the McKenzie basin that was!! Lunch at Omarama and a fun trip throught the Lindis before follwing the mighty Clutha to home, a 445km day trip of excellent riding.

CBs first longish trip and loved it, she took to it like a duck to water.

And just to ruin the KB riding record: no, we didn't bin and didn't get a ticket (or even stopped by the 5-0)

Now the steeds have been groomed, we've dined and it's off to bed.
