    Out of the closet?

Guy I know (you know him too) rides a Hyabusa but has a Jog in the garage.

I was at the local Honda agent with the SJ50 the other day and a guy I know as a Blackbird owner came over for a chat.
    "That yours?"
    "Yeah". (Just a little defensively...)
    "I've got one of those."

Went to the local Ulysses Christmas function yesterday.
The guy that was sitting next to me owns a Triumph Trophy but is currently testing a Bonneville with intent. He told me he'd heard I'd bought a scooter, then he said he had an SJ50 too. He rides the scooter to work everyday, it costs him $2.00 per week.

So I guess next time you see a scooter it just might not be a newbie, impecunious, student/school boy type. In most of the above cases though the size of our beer gut should give a hint of that. :whistle

He rides a vespa to work.
I have been riding the missus scooter a bit.
100 MPG..the small wheels put ya off a bit
Round town it is exc. easy to park.and cheap to run.
Wouldent want to take it to far on the open road though

Interesting thing I have found ..... and I ride my scoot to work each day .... is that bike riders don't acknowldege you !! lol .. But .. when I'm riding my CB1300S, other riders acknowledge me. I think it's a bit of a laugh ... seems like there is a bit of snobbery going on ... or something like that. Me ..... I wave to anyone except gangsters !

And I love riding my scoot. I think Im actually getting more fun around town on it lately, than on the CB, which has been sitting in the shed a bit lately because the weather has been crap in the weekends in Whangarei lately.

Know what you mean... Just lately I've twice seen a new GSXR coming out from the area I live as I've been going home. He doesn't even look at the scooter so I don't wave.

It will be interesting to see what happens when I see him when I'm out with the VFR? He will be easy to spot, he wears distinctive work overalls.

I think a lot of it isn't 'snobbery'. It's that scooters are commuter vehicles.

I can understand why they're not acknowleged. I get all sorts of dorks trying to get my attention when I stop at traffic lights on my commuter vehicle. It's fecking annoying.
It's only when you take the piss out of a partially shaved wookie with an overactive 'me' gene and stapled on piss flaps that it becomes a problem.

Yeah, that's me too Pritch. It's a bit like a Jeckyl & Hyde existence eh. Yeah, like not ready to come out of the closet.

But hey, it's still a lotta fun.
It's OK to disagree with me. I can't force you to be right.

I have my 250 and a 50cc scooter for popping down to the shops etc.

    Mate of mine has 5 Bikes, RGV150, 180Runner(scooter) 650 Freewind and 2x 50cc Scooters.

He uses the 50's and RGV most of the time.
I finally got my knee down! …and my shoulder …and my pillion’s head.

Don't worry about BMW riders - they ignore everyone!

Scoots are cool, Vespas with sidecars - very cool.

SO whatswrong with Virago's then? They're bikes, just the same as yours. Is this like the gay threads and you're ashamed to say you like them out loud? Its cool to admit it you know, we're all friends here
