AMCC rnd 2 report Shaun Pattenden

Hey y'all, for those of you that dont know me im racing a black zx10r no 26, soon to be green
I was really looking fwd to puke as I was unable to make rnd 1. The previous weekend was spent at Taupo - Friday long track, Saturday T2, with a harder front spring and some other adjustments the bike was working really well and had some great weather too.
During the course of the week I reverted back to a previous exhaust cam and map I had the most success with, so had a good suspension and engine setup
Rockin up to Puke I was a bit apprehensive lookin at the weather, but was hoping it would hold out, that was short lived though as a shower came though and went out for the first sighting session on slicks, which was really greasy.

    QUAL FORMULA AKL
The rain had ceased for a bit and a dry line was forming, was able to get some power down but still had to nurse it around a bit, Chopper went past me into T1 and was starting to get a clip on, I kept him in sight for the remainder of the session and wound up in 6th with a 1.07 something.

    RACE 1 FORMULA AKL
The track had dried quite nicely for the race, and we were underway in no time. I had a bit of a slow start but then quickly started to make up positions, the bike was feeling really good and made it into 5th place by the end of lap 2. Approaching T1 of Lap 3 quite fast I had the front riders in sight and felt like I was making progress, made it ova the first bump but then the second one 'bit me' and the front end must of bottomed and tucked in 4th gear at 200?+kph and I was soon sliding across the grass on my back and went into a bit of a tumble bike wound up not too bad but had a hole in the radiator so that was the end for me for the day. Didnt get any injuries of any subsequence. Best time 60.71 sec lap 2 which was third fastest in the race maybe next time.. catch u guys and gals then.

Hey thanks to bikestore for da great pics too.

Have you got a cable tie around your fork leg? That'll tell you very quickly if you crashed due to botoming the fork out.
There's a few people floating about on days like sunday who can help you with set up advice if you need to bounce some ideas around. I've heard the tall skinny red haired guy has done a little bit of racing on ZX10s
