    Question Vapor dashboard experiences?

Anybody tried a Trailtech Vapor on their bike?

My RGV has a slightly dented speedo unit, and given that I like to tart things up a little, this looks like a nice replacement unit for not a bad price.

My only real concern is that I'm guessing the LCD tacho will be a little hard to read and maybe not as responsive as a fast revving stink wheel ideally needs. Not the end of the world, a small shift light would sort that out (and add to the racer look of course), but I'm just looking to see if anyone has real world experience with one, and how they found it.

Any other gotchas? I see they're on trademe and that this guy is allegedly the NZ importer... anyone dealt with them perhaps? At that price, I'm sold

Wow pretty cheap I thought but then I realized it wasn't a real Veypor dash. Still for that price you can't complain.

Well actually you can ....a quick google says you can buy online for under US$120 if you can find a place that ships internationally.

I'd use one from a R1 or GSXR if you want a digi speedo & normal tacho.

Have a couple of articles about & just done my 500. Have a spare gear tooth counter as well.
Don't you look at my accountant.

    GSXR to RG500 (by a kiwi) http://www.suzuki-rg500.com/gsxr.htm

Think he goes a bit overboard, don't know if one needs the adaptors he used.

    R1 onto RZ:

At the end of the day it is all possible with a bit of fanukering.
You do however need the wiring diagrams for both items to match them up. Pretty easy to find on the net though. I almost bought a R1 on Aus Ebay but found one locally. Read up about which models you can change from MPH to KPH. 1000 ones are better than 600 as tacho not so stratospheric revs.

BTW I have a spare new cherry gear tooth counter I can sell you 1/2 price if you go this path.
