I was using a HP 9600 inkjet b4 I got my A3 colour laser. Still in the cupboard I think. It went well for me, printed plans great. Had no probs with it and the cartridges seemed to last ok. Jeepers you should be able to pickup one of those at a pretty good price. If its only for a few copies a week should be fine.
Looks like its turned into the 9800 http://h10010.www1.hp.com/wwpc/nz/en...-12085171.html

I ran an Epson stylus pro XL for nearly 10 years as a commercial device. 1 set of print heads replaced in that time. Still got it.

If it was my small company for 5 sheets a week I would email a .pdf to a Bureau.

Sounds like an inkjet to me, whatever your preferred supplier has cheap. Overuse ain't an issue.

    Changing cartridges - HTFU.

The unit at KR is network printer and photocopier all in one - that makes sense in a corporate (or mag).

And I happen to be a High-end Bureau... I could get you a price per copy if you want to email them.

Avoid ink-jet, it only looks cheap. Cost of colour lasers is dropping but still over $1k. Ours cost over $80k each for the A3 printers.

Can do up to 900mm wide (by however long) at a price... (Cost depends on how hot the chick in the picture is).

Ohhhhhh, didn't realise they were still made. Does that mean spangly thermal paper? How does that work with colour then?

Aside: Can you still get dye sublimation printers? They always seemed potentially very cool - provided you were prepared to wait.
