Determined to kill my bike before it kills me
A new $20 helmet is a new $20 helmet. Probably better then a pushbike helmet on the kids when on their small dirt bikes?
But if you are expecting something with all the bells and whistles for that then...
id want more details than that... might be ok for kids on their small bikes, but wouldnt use one on the road.

the really happy person is one who can enjoy the scenery when on a detour.
look like snow mobile helmets to me - they have visors like that setup to stop fogging. Ask them what standards they meet.
Amazing what can be done with a balloon and paper mache![]()
aparntly thats what skidmark had his first bin in, turns out he was actually normal beforehand...
Then I could get a Kb Tshirt, move to Timaru and become a full time crossdressing faggot
I asked the question whether they met any standards on his last auction(s). No reply....
"I came into this game for the action, the excitement... go anywhere, travel light,... get in, get out,... wherever there's trouble, a man alone... Now they got the whole country sectioned off; you can't make a move without a form."
Paved roads are just another example of wasted tax payer dollars.
I've asked again too...
Take a look at his previous auctions (via feedback) It seems it's a question he avoids.
Looking through other auctions of his (not the bouncy castles, although one of those on yer head would probably be as good) I see he has FGN helmets for $40.

Personally I would not buy safety equipment I can not try on, having just gone the exercise of purchasing a new helmet after trying various sizes of different manufacture I found even helmets listed as the same size to be different fitting.
Its not the destination that is important its the journey.
A $20 helmet is perfectly fine, for a $20 head.
I see Steam bought the helmet and the seller said it meets European standards. I hope you got a good deal there Steam!
I guess for you it's only $20 so it's not too much of a risk, but if there's anything dodgy about the helmet I hope you will follow up and make sure other people aren't putting their heads at risk!
If it turns out you have any issues with the helmet, you may still have some protection under various trading laws. The Consumer's institute is a good place to start. Especially if there is any evidence that the seller is a commercial trader.
Here's what they said in a recent article (Nov 07):
"We have had concerns in the past about "commercial" traders using Trade Me to bypass the Fair Trading and Consumer Guarantees Acts by posing as hobby businesses. Trade Me is not a parallel universe where the consumer laws that apply to traders with brick-and-mortar outlets are suspended."
There is no such thing as bad weather; only inappropriate clothing!
I agree the helmets look dodgy as and if they are a cheap Chinese model that doesn't conform to any safety standards then the trader needs to be hauled over the coals for it. However, price isn't always an indication of the quality you're getting. I recently had a couple of new helmets on trademe that were getting no interest shown in them. After relisting a few times I thought "Fuck it, I'll dollar reserve them - that will get some action going". Well, I got $31 for one of them and a whole $5 for the other. (These helmets had a RRP of $180). Learned a costly lesson that night.
I'm not going to wear it for me, it's just an emergency pillion helmet to leave at work / on the helmet lock on the bike.
It'll get knocked around, easy come easy go.
If I had a proper pillion / girlfriend then I'd care more and get a proper helmet for her.
But I don't, so meh, twenty bucks of brains it is.
