Inlet manifold for a Hyosung GT650R (2005) Needed!!

Just found out that I have a split inlet manifold and the part needs to come from Korea. (So wont arrive till after New Years.... )

I have had a google hunt across autowreckers and dismantlers without any luck. So if anyone knows where I can get one this side of XMAS, please please PM me and save my XMAS!!

Its made of rubber, I asked whether it could be taped to "tide me over" they didnt recomend it. I thought it would be fine. Whats RTV?

RTV is a sealant, can't remember what the initials are for. Its whats in a lot of those windcreen or gutter tubes

Depending on how bad the cracking is you can wipe it (thickly) over the rubber and it will fill and seal small cracks.

I wouldn't use duct tape on its own - you really really really do not want your repair to leak air - but it works ok to reinforce the fix.

If your manifold does leak, not only does the running become rough, but you also risk burning pistons by running too lean. So while I've done this with intake manifiolds on a Shitzuki 550 and the fix worked and lasted pretty well, I'd still be wanting to replace the manifold when a new one became available.

It really is a bodge job, but it might just keep you riding over Christmas

Amalgamating (sometimes called Vulcanising rubber tape) tape from electrical wholesalers would probably work - its black as well.

Yeah, that's it: self-amalgamating tape. Sorta bonds to itself, and forms a watertight seal, like a fish's arse.

Thanks for your help guys, I have rung around and am not gonna get the part this side of XMAS. Also rang the shop back to see if it could be temporarily repaired using a product called Sikaflex. Unfortunatley when they told me it was "split" Its actually busted in half completley! Dunno how the hell I managed to do that, but thems the breaks.
On the upside, I have my brothers VTX1300 at my place while he is in the UK.... hope he dont read this!!
