Pritch n Janno's fabulous birthday weekend January 12/13th.

So, the old fart is getting older, and I'm just coming in to my prime. Having b'days three days apart means we thought a birthday ride through some Taranaki back roads would be the go on Saturday. Then park up, partake in multitudinous beverages, eat far too much and talk a load o'shite.

This is an open invite to anyone and everyone who feels like coming along. New Plymouth is stunning at this time of year so you out of towners who feel like proving to yourselves that there is a mountain, now's your chance! Plenty of bed space to be had, and we are half way between Wellington and Auckland, so don't be shy.

Suitable present for Pritch - either a zimmer frame or a nubile, willing dancing girl in a g-string, haven't worked out which yet.

Suitable present for me - Lotto ticket and or chocolate, the darker the better. Milk chocolate is for gurlz . . .

Hope you can make it, especially those of you whom I had the pleasure to meet on the Wellington Cheesecutter ride.

    Jan.

    Excellent, ladies!

Have absolutely no friggin idea what we are going to do yet, Pritch n I will be having a planning session tomorrow, methinks.

But ride somewhere Saturday, lunch, ride back to base. About 3-400km in total should be nice and easy for everyone. Then Saturday night have a relaxing and rather alcoholic dinner somewhere nice but not too expensive, or else fall back on the good old barbecue.

I'm making a huge chocolate mud cake for afters. You only have to look at it and you go up a size, but tastes divine.

    Open to suggestions . . .

Easy on the "old" there.Wasn't that long ago I thought the folks were old at 40,shit gone past that.Seriously though,I have a 2 room tent, last years birthday pressie and still a virgin, might have to put it up sober,so suggest maybe the week before lol, could drop off in car day before?Sleeps about 45 by size of it.Get lots of porta loos.

As for ride, how about 30 min spin up North Egmont then back to base, more drink time

Also sounds really naff but the bowl could have some reasonable sounds going with the lights in park, for those that haven't seen them an option, then maybe really hit the piss.

Restaurant choice is huge too,or bbq,but then that means some bugger has to play chef, bbq next day good idea when hungover.Memo to self take monday off.

Oooh, yes, forgot about that. Strolling through the Pukekura lights is compulsory summer fun in New Plymouth. And they are really cool - but don't go to the black light area if you have dandruff.

I was thinking about $25 per head or under for dinner, hopefully that'll be within everyone's price range. When we get more of an idea of numbers I'll talk to one of the yummy local bistros and see what they can do for us.

Not bad, must have been the fact I wasn't cooking, did my time fixing the fence, bastard kids of Als neighbourhood.

Took a while to work out why the plate wasn't heating up on sunday, bloody dumb idea you need gas in bottle.

Forgotten highway best done going to event or incorporated into it,not great if hungover.

Will sort out a good cafe for you to have a break when coming through.

What's the NP club like, heard it was great,as long as a few members of chartered clubs turn up,we can sign most of us in,cheap meals and booze.
