    Yes you are.

    That's the short answer.

Using a 190/55 on the rear of a bike with a 5.5" rim does indeed squeeze the tyre together, this has two main effects.

    1) The rolling radius of the tyre is larger

    2) The profile is steeper

The larger rolling radius decreases your final drive ratio, and steepens the angle of the forks

The steeper profile makes the bike feel like it's tipping faster, and gives a flatter contact patch when the bike is on it's side. Hence much much much more side grip.

BTW, your posts with lime-green text are fuckin hard to read in the Light Universe colour scheme.
5.5 and yes the green text is hared to read in the light universe. I started doing it as a joke in the Manawatu threads but the constant red rep from Mental trousers makes me do it all the time now cause I am a stubbon arsehole. You should come over to the darkside anyhow.

all good. I think I will stick to mine for now. If they were 180s I might have thought about putting them in the shed for next time round but being as I just put 2 new tyres on and xmas is a week away and I want to get laid before new year I will leave it for now. Cheers anyhow.
