So when is the doctors appointment?

There must have been reason for asking the question, you got lots of answers, seeing the doc when?

FWIW.. does not matter how you position your body, if you snore you snore, I forced myself to sleep on my tummy (apparently it's impossible to snore that way)

    Forget sleeping.

Right at this moment, Grahameeboy's snoring is about to drive me out of the bloody lounge with my laptop.

Anyone think I should make a recording and post it?

I've heard about that nasel delivery system and a co-worker knows someone that has had success with it. Just wondered if any others on here have tried it and got results.

I went to see an ENT specialist as I have ongoing sinus problems and apparently I snore. I don't think it's a problem but my wife is very insistant that it is my problem....

    Dan, this might help you:

After going to the specialist I'm now in the 'thinking about whether I actually want the nice man to ram his tools up my nose and cut the inside of my head apart' stage.

Basically, what he intends to do is chop away the turbinates (big lumps of flesh inside your nose that can swell up and block the nasal passages), and straighten up my septum (the boney bit in the middle of your nose, which is crooked a bit further back in my head). That should sort out the sinuses and breathing.

For an encore, he also, wants to chop a bit of length off the bit of flesh that hangs down the back of your throat where your windpipe splits (where one half goes through your nose and the other through your mouth). Mine is apparently very long, and flaps about on my windpipe like a towel on a washing line in a strong breeze. This is apparently what is causing the snoring.

It's a GA op, all sone at once. You spend the night in hospital under observation and then a week off work in considerable pain/doped to the eyeballs/eating through a straw/breathing through your mouth only.

If none of that sounds appealing, you could give a decongestant spray a crack. Get one from the chemist. I usually give myself a squirt just before bed, and it helps free up the sinuses.

Definitely go see an ENT. I would highly recommend Dr Donn in Rotorua, after lots of appointments with other doctors and LOADS of tests, he was the first person to figure out exactly what was wrong with me

Snoring can be caused by Polyps, which are caused by allergies. If that is what you have, It is an endoscopic surgery (meaning they don't cut the seeable skin) and a night in the hospital.

Took lots of tests and blood trials until I was sent to Dr Donn as no one could figure it out, I had stumped every one in Taupo lol.

Couldn't recommend an ENT enough... It might cost a bit more for an appointment, but trust me... Compared to the countless tests doctors can run you through... It is very likely to work out cheaper in the long run.

Having the surgery has completely changed my life and I no longer snore
