Handy with a Welder in Auckland???

    Hi Guys

I have just bought a nice little ZR 250A for my lovely wife to learn to ride on.

The one problem with it is that a rock got jambed between the front sprocket and the housing and has snapped the Sprocket Housing off and requires some remedial welding to re-attach it.

I have all of the pieces so hopefully it is a simple job?

Could somebody help me out? Happy to pay with alchohol, cash or the traditional KB way and pay it forward, what ever you want.

    Thanks in advance

    Shane

it's just a plastic piece, so it would need to be plastic welded (which is a lot more difficult than welding metal, don't hold me to that though)
What i would suggest it just screw the rest of the casing that is still stuck on the bike off and use some epoxy resin or other high-temp adhesive, once it has dried just screw the piece back on and all should be good.

Failing that slap eletrical tape on it and pray to ze gods!

    No it's definately metal

I decided to go visit some general engineering firms near work, neither wanted to touch it whilst the motor was still in the bike. Went and visited a Raditor place and they are going to give it a try.

Apparently getting it clean enough is going to be a real challenge then getting in there without melting other stuff.

Fingers crossed will have to wait and see how they get on with it today
