Thumbs down ignition wiring - gsx-r400

    Hi,

I have a gsx-r400 motor in my go kart, approximately 85 I think. The leads from coils to plugs were unattached when i bought the thing and I am unsure which lead goes to where. If anyone could help that would be awesome.

As a reference, i will call gearbox end piston 1, and alternator end piston 4. Coil 1 can be the one with the yellow and black signal wire, coil 2 can be the one with the white signal wire. If anyone could take a couple of minutes to look at their running bike it would be awesome, i imagine any gsx of a similar period will do.

P.s. i have looked at a wiring diagram, sadly it ends at the coils.

    Cheer,

    Ollie

Have a look here for info regarding these bikes http://www.400greybike.co.uk/Forum/l...t.asp?CAT_ID=7

I've just looked at my manual for the 85 model and it shows W and O/W going to one coil which goes to plugs 1 and 4. O/W and B/Y goes to 2 and 3.

Does that help at all? Let me know if there's anything else you need that might be in the manual.

No problem. Glad to be able to help.

It's a printed work shop manual that I got when I bought a GSXR400 in bits a couple years ago. The guy I got the bike off got it off trademe at some stage I think.
