The current push is for Mission Bay, the meeting at the carpark across from BK's, then burgering up before terrorizing *ahem* I mean touring around, perhpas a noisey pack ride through the city or to Maraetai to finish.
We could make it a 6:30pm dinner stop for an hour and still have enough light to ride out to Maraetai to finish.

Please post thoughts, dsicussions, ideas and the obligatory non-productive smart-ass comments below...
I think that sounds like a good idea, but where the hell is Maraetai? (im a shore boy heh )

Past Howick, Through Whitford. Has the most lovely beach. It's about 20k from Howick, or about 5-10k from clevedon.

I'm with 6Chris6 on this one Frosty - it's a ride, so I'm not imbibing at all, and don't want to encourange anyone else to (not before hand anyway). A pub serves little other purpose, and yeah the food is pretty good there (but still better at Galbraiths or the H&T), but quite a lot of us -strictly- don't mix riding with drinking, and I'll be damned if I'm going to sit in a pub that serves Kilkenny on tap drinking OJ's...
If you want to finish up there when the sun sets and we're back from Maraetai, then go for it.

Well, from a North Shoreans view, Maraetai looks like the deepest darkest part of east butt-fuck no-where. Cruise through town would be ok

Hey DM as you know i work thursday nights for now anyway, if you guys are looking at a dinner stop! There's pleanty of room in the carpark out back of my work, enough room for a lotta bikes and space to spare for burnouts I'd put a generous discount up for all KBer's on some pizza each week if you be keen.

Free pizza to the best burnout to But if the turn up i don't know you

    Now THAT'S a GOOD IDEA.

Pack ride the back streets from Mission Bay, past Eastridge, through Meadowbank/St Johns, to Ellerslie for Pizza and burnouts...

It's a lovely ride out to Maraetai, get off the southern motorway at East Tamaki, go east a few kays, turn right and it's nice green twisties all the rest of the way. A perfect summer afternoon ride to the beach. Not many slow blind corners, just nice traffic-free back roads.

I rode out there to drop something off at the marina a while back; the FXR drove me nuts. It's just no fun riding along in fourth and fifth gear on full throttle, wanting to go faster but not really having the ponies. It'd be lovely to do on a Proper Bike.

Can girlies on 250's come too, or is this a "big boys on big bikes" thingy?

    Righto,
The terrorising part, and the burger part all sound good to me.
Lets do that then, and ignore all these contrary suggestions.
Maybe we can take on board all these other ideas and do something different each month?

There *might* be some testosterone in the breeze, but seeing as how it'll be in town I doubt it will turn into a "I can fall off faster than you" effort like some rides I've been on.

I'll be on a 250 so there will be at least two of us on underpowered bikes. If we're lucky TS might turn up on his 150, and jayzus that things slow..

Gee, you have almost convinced me that it would be ok if I turned up!
I was thinking that an old gal on a slow bike might cramp your style!
