    Fucking fraudsters

I thought it was starting to be a great sales week $7500 ish of sales, great I thought until we learned that we where being targeted by Indonesian fraudsters with dodgey credit card numbers, hey we got the $7500 in the bank in real money BUT the banks will be wanting it all back at some stage which is no problem.

We have sent out three jackets only and NZ post are frantically trying to find the parcel before it leaves NZ.

Im only posting this so you are all aware that this type of activity is rampant, so be careful who you are doing business with.

Hasn't there been a recent call for banks to repay/honour all internet fraud or something or other ?

Yes. To the customer, the person with the defrauded credit card. In fact, all the big credit card companies offer that guarantee. We touched on it recently in another thread, where someone used the chargeback mechanism to get their money back after ordering household goods at a local store which shut up shop without delivering to them.

The merchant is never indemnified; the onus is effectively on them to guard against fraudulent use of stolen credit card data by their customers, and to hand back any money they charge to those cards.

Yes, I know of a travel company who got duped by a conman in America using stolen credit card numbers. Those that owned the credit cards were fine, the travel company was about $20,000 out of pocket.

There's a lesson to be learnt from dealing with cultures with different ethics than your own.

... don't trust anything you can blindfold with a shoelace?

    Edit: Or anything American.

In fairness there are plenty of people in my own culture that have different ethics than my own.

    But I still rob them.

The extremes some cunts will go to to get some nice new shiney Quasimoto leathers.

If they had any brains they would have targeted some big outfit that wouldn't have noticed until it was too late. Maybe they really wanted the Quasimoto brand.

Good thing you caught it before it became an even bigger headache.

Sounds like you averted a near disaster - how did you get on to it so quickly? Were they "buying" your gear to resell or to make cheap ripoffs of, do you think?

Yeah it's a shame you can't trust people anymore these days... I should know.

Indeed, I shall be very careful of that in the future.
