    Any KB sailors out there?

I used to race sunbursts and scout cutters back when i was younger, and learnt my way in a P Class...

Are there any KBers actively involved in sailing and or racing? I'm keen to get back into it, but im a bit big to race single handed boats, so would be looking more towards larger crewed type stuff.

If anyone in Auckland needs some balast or just some company for a weekend blast then let me know!

I just got back a couple of hours ago from cruising up to the Bay of Islands. I suspect I can find you a position (take that as you will )

We race Reactors - big enough to have some fun, and small enough to have some fun - you don't have to worry about being a rail-bunny like most of the crew on larger boats!

    PM me for my mobile.

dude WTF are you doing with old pics of 12 year old boys? cant you find any new ones?

P.S. if i had a boat you could be my cabin boy, but you would have to change your name to Roger first.

I used to spend many, many illicit hours sailing in my yoff! I have also been known to teach kids to sail at those camps some parents send kids to so they dont have to deal with them on a day to day basis during summer holidays.

Sadly, I have not been sailing properly for the longest time.

Sailed a little bit in lasers, trapez and yngling dinghys...

Currently I'm racing as crew on a 38 footer every wednesday night during summer here in Lyttleton. Good fun, nice and relaxed!

Yup, the family have been involved in yachting for years. Folks have a photo of me in a "baby-carrying whateveryacallit" hanging from the boom of the old family boat, when I was five days old.

A yacht is on the horizon... in the forseeable future.

R6, wander down to the Richmond Yacht club at Westhaven and put a card up on the board.

I ended up going from Moths to 1 Ton Cup for six yrs that way. Richmond run the Wednesday Night Winter Series and then during the summer ther's racing/cruising every weekend.

It's the best life of all.

When I was working in Auckland I crewed on a Young 99 and a GBE on Wednesday night racing. Did the Coastal Classic on the GBE a couple of times, and the Tonga cruising race on the 99, the year of the big storm - we beat it by about 6 hours, but a few others weren't so lucky.....

The Gulf is a great place to be in the late afternoon.

As Grub said, a note on the local clubrooms works or try crew.org??? local website for all yacht racing. Pirate Jafa's offer sounds good too....

However, should you wish to get into power boating ie; Coastguard, give me a yell, we always need new meat, oops, volunteers!

Richmond yacht club do a friday night sailing for people new to it (even if you are not...good way to get asked to join in on racing). My brother takes out the olds yacht most of the time. Thats how we used to get crew for the boat.
