I'm gonna sleep well tonight too, fresh air and sunshine. Thanks for peeling off and meeting up with me, didn't quite manage to make it back to BK in time but it was good to meet up with the Wed night group anyway. I've had double my quota today ... one ride is never enough.

Looking forward to the next one already

Was a good ride. Pity about the sun all the way up the Gorge the first time.

Comming back was way more fun.

Yes finally made to the weds night rides(WNR), and what a half/full ride it was. I had to play catch up, but ended up heading towards them instead of catching the group, as a late change of direction(by the group) put me off. Anyway as above we found each other and had a great and a awesome chat. So thanks to all, awesome to put faces to names and meet some great people. Hopefully I can make more WNR.

I've been thinking about that today - it was pretty dodgy riding with the sun like that, even with sunglasses on the glare was really strong. Difficult to see the road at times. What do others suggest doing when it's like that? I just slowed down (seems like that's starting to be my answer to everything) ~

That was on the way out of town and I think it was only me and spuds that had to take action to avoid it as we were at the rear at that time.

I raised my visor a bit to deflect the glare off my eyes, seemed to work with the angle the visor was sitting but yeah, not a great solution.

It was a great night for a ride up to the Ashley Gorge, apart from the sun on the way
We left BK at about 6.45pm and headed off to Rangiora with Shrek in the lead. He took us down all these back roads to make it a bit more interesting instead of all straight bits like the motorway, etc.
In Rangiora we went to pick up Karla and that was when we got separated for a bit. Just a little misunderstanding, Shrek went to the corner that comes down from Amberley (after coming back from her trip to Kaikoura) but she was at a diffrent one. No dramas, back half of group peeled off and went to meet her and the rest waited on side of road.
Once regrouped we went up through Loburn round all the good twisty bits through to the Ashley Gorge to Oxford. Once at Oxford we stopped at the pub for a BEER and a chat for about an hour or so and decided to head on back.
Five of us went back through the Ashley Gorge and the rest went another way.
It was good to meet and put faces to names. A great night with great people.
