Almost as bad as finding mum 'performing' at the March Hare eh?
Sometimes you wish it was easier, but if it was, everyone else would do it, then you remember you don't want to be like everybody else!

sure enough, I heard the sound of the bikes backing off for SH1. At gretta
    grr frigging flu
wanted to come over and join you all at the pub
Oh the flu... that's no good. We were wondering where you were. Waiting for you to walk through the door, but never happened.

It was a great ride once you got pass the boring bits, but once on your little bit of road it was all

I see that they have closed the pub at Waikari, so you mite get some more traffic through that way.

Lets hope you can the flu and see you on the road.

bugger, no riding till it gone, and such good weather.

perfect day for the Leader road

Mrs Oakie and I may be doing the Leader Road this afternoon. She informed me earlier that she wants to do a long ride today so if anyone sees a couple of black Hondas strolling along that way gently, that'll be us.

Folks this is not aimed at anyone in particular but to the group of naysayers that seem to have developed negative attitudes to the Wed night cruisy rides.

Piss off. simple and sweet or put up come along, and sit at the back, offer the help and assistance you keep claiming too, instead of riding up the front with the fast group then "witnessing stupid and dangerous actions" and posting the ride is a complete waste of time.

If you have seen these actions fine talk to the rider but don't get bent out of shape when they ignore you cause you went ranting and raving, or berated them here in the forum rather than had a quite chat over an ale or lemonade.

If you really want to help do so, simple things per ride help more than a heap of information blasted out, any of the newer riders out there can tell you what worries them and what they want to learn if you ask them.
Its not the destination that is important its the journey.

Not really a need to expand on it D, this post comes from my annoyance at comments made in this and other threads knocking the ride, and its ability to help newer riders.

I have gotten sick of hearing negative comments, even to the point having mentioned the ride to bikers I have spoken to, who are not on here (well they said they weren't but who can be sure) and yet seem to know all the negative comments from a mate who has been on maybe one ride.

And yes you are right splitting the ride into two has helped but is not really that different from how it has been since day one with the faster riders going at their pace, but those are the guys who, (although some might say otherwise) do not need the help, which is where all the comments about how I had an off or close call are coming from, not those at the back strangely.

Basicly if those who want to comment about the effectiveness of this ride to help the newer riders out were, instead of running down incidents at the front where the pace is high (and perhaps the testosterone) sitting at the back giving guidance, being prepared to travel at slower speeds, then all the new guys would be getting this great advice some seem to claim ownership of but are unwilling to share.

These are my 10 cents worth (inflation from 2c), I would love to see those who need and want assistance getting heaps of help from those with the knowledge and skills, shit I don't claim to know everything about riding a bike but what I know I share freely, and I am willing to listen and learn still.

I think its a great thing , to offer advice for the newer rider .
Its invaluable , I also think if there critisim from the higher paced riders ,or peoples that ride faster that have heard different from others on the rides !.

Well maybe they just dont need to go , i ride a bit faster myself , but if its a group ride i dont mine at all being "with the group".

And i wont be rushed to ride my bike by anyone else .
i hope theres more new riders that want to go riding in a group situation , as its great riding and they will pick up better riding tips .

This should also be encouraged by all other riders .

    Thats my 10 cents

I am sure those who have been knocking the ride had been reading this thread thus why I posted here, I suspect they are the silent minority who regularly read the thread or some of those guests.
