It was a lovely evening for a ride, and about nine turned up I think? We went up Dyers Pass Road, along the summit road, down to Lyttelton and out to Wheatsheaf Hotel for a refreshment before returning home.

I got to ride my new bike tonight, only three hours old and I lost my balance and - oh no - I just felt it going and there was no stopping it once it happened. Nothing serious, just hurt pride and a broken peg, thank goodness. Now I know who is the Boss.

Thanks to those who responded so quickly and helped to pick her up. Thank goodness Wayne was able to put the passenger peg on at the front so it wasn't difficult to finish the ride, even if we were a bit behind. Lovely also to hear stories of others that have done it too, I still feel a bit silly but hey - at least the marks on her have been put there by me!!

Life is good ~ I don't have anything to complain about really

I got myself a lovely little black Triumph Bonneville. It is a riding style that I feel really comfortable with, corners beautifully and has a little more power than the GN - I really enjoy it going up hills!

Kelly's new bike was a lovely shade of green. I'm not up on sports bikes, but it looked v.e.r.y tidy too

I was following Karla for quite a way around the summit road and was very impressed, both with her new bike and the rider. Was a fantastic evening for a ride and nice to meet some new people. Look forward to hopefully meeting a few more for the ride to Jackson's Saturday.

Glad it was only the one "refreshment" , Mr Plod was round the corner from home doing breath testing.

Catch you all next Wednesday with any luck.
