    Active Roadracers in NZ

Just wondering how many active roadracers there are in New Zealand.

By active I mean doing a few club races or Natioanls events each year.

Looking at the MNZ license numbers I see its up to 16000 issued licenses or something this would include Dirt Bike riders as well.

This would be a very hard one to research but is anyone here game enough to take an educated guess?

Last guy to post on there was license #19000 and something.

Only 100 replies is low but it does give an indication of how many roadracers actually visit here. Probably about twice and many than posted on the thread.

I was thinking of working it out based on the munmber of tracks in NZ and how many bike meeting the have. Have to take into account the Classic and Post Classic clubs.

I think theres alot of people that have got a license done a few meetings then stopped.

Your race license number is very low Shaun do you remember what year it was issued. Was it when the ACU became MNZ?

All the information should be there. And also somewhere else on this site.

You keep your old number, hence if you had a licence say 20 years ago, in theory you could renew that number. It would be interesting to know how many "active" licence holders there currently are.

i got my first nzacu liceince in 1986, i think it changed to mnz in about 1991 or 2, and i think we got the log book in about 99

    licence # is 2165,
i think when they went to the new mnz licence they got sequencial numbers, as before that we got stickers in the liceinces,

Did you not go to the MNZ link above?? There is a printable license application form that tells you what to do. Do ya want someone to do it for you??

sort of on topic but not quite...

I went to renew my race number last year sometime and found that there was no race numbers in the 600 class below 100 available, they were all registered, now I don't recall seeing 100 riders on a grid anywhere!
(on a side note, the MNZ rule book says in each class only numbers 1-99 will be issued!)
