I use a thick sheepskin for longer trips ont he SV, it makes a huge difference for the SV which has a crap seat.

Hmm, plenty of people seem to have great success with sheepskins but I tried it when I had the YZF1000 and it did'nt do squat for me.

I just got back to Wellington a few hours ago after leaving Kerikeri this morning on the bike. About 900k's all up and just made 3 stops for gas. Man my ass hurts! I think I'll be flying next time..

Got sheepskins on the seats in the Pajero, and a lambskin for trips > 300km on the Ducati. Well worth the investment for both vehicles. The lambskin on the Duc gives me an easy 700-800 km range - more if I have to..., but without, then the raw arse feeling starts to set in at around the 500km mark.

Worst trip I've ever done for arse pain - riding from Kaikohe to Waihi and back (about 500k's each way + or - a bit...) in a weekend - on an IT465 with super tall gearing and road tyres. Like riding a paintmixer, sitting on a razor blade. Took over a week before I could sit comfortably again!
