Added pictures.
Thanks again to Mr & Mrs nudemetalz for letting me destroy their rear tyre, err take the V11 for a ride.
If a man is alone in the woods and there isn't a woke Hollywood around to call him racist, is he still white?
That bike is a wonderful colour![]()
Please.
And always enjoy reading your little diatribes on riding Jim.

The V11 is a great bike, and yes the newer ones have certian advantages, mainly the gearbox is better on say a Griso/Breva, but the handling right back to the mid 70's on the big twins has always been right up there. Except for a 16' front they played with. A V11 will challenge the rider to get it's best, I can go out and thrash a CBR thou just like the next person, but making the best of 90HP takes a fair degree of skill, and that is the rewarding part.
Also not mentioned is the BMW like kms you can rack up on one of these engines (looked after of course) without rebuilding them all the time.
The price is coming down I think because the newer bikes are a decent step forward. The new Griso is described as a Guzzi for those who don't like Guzzi's. Which means it is pretty user friendly I guess.
Every Guzzi I have owned has had some issue or other, but how boring would life be if everything was like a Honda?
Nice write up, I liked it, but you are preaching to the perverted.
When non-bikers ask what I ride, and I say a Guzzi, they don't know what I am talking about and can't pidgon hole me. When I had a Ducati, the response was " Oh your a Ducati man" but with a Guzzi, my obsession remains private, as it should be.![]()

Can't rep you any more for now, Jim- but wanted to tell you that that's one of the bestest write-ups I've read in a while!
Seriously. Give up that annoying day job and write. You'll make a damned fortune.
A friend here owns the Guzzi dealership for this region, and he's always trying to tempt me into having a go on one (I suspect he must have no idea of just how po' I am). I weakened recently, but discovered that the Duck's Disease had got to my legs just in the nick of time, saving me from myself and The Gods Of Plastic.
*sigh*
The world is my oxter
Go on and ride one SDU is only 5'1" and she can.
Yes she can only get her toes down on one side at a time.
It's a balancing act sometimes, but once under way it is the same as any other bike.
You will, like her, have plan and work out where to stop and what foot to put down in advance.
Sometimes I have to park her bike, but I'm doing this less and less as she has got use to the size and weight of the bike.
I would feel sorry for anyone that tried to sell or pinch her pride and joy.
Feel the fear and do it anyway
Don't confuse education with intelligence.
There are alot of highly educated idiots out there.
Beautiful write-up, Jim.
As the other fellow Guzzi-isti's have said, we'll make a Guzzi-owner out of you yet ...
Agree with everything said, the V11 Sport (and I guess Le-Mans also) take a bit to get used to and you have to "ride them" but once sussed, there is a lot of personal satisfaction with the riding experience.
And, I'm just glad the Guzzi got you home before the tyre went down.
See, the bike likes you already !!!!
"...you meet the weirdest people riding a Guzzi !!..."
Great write up sir.![]()
