The ride by continued - and I did catch a photo of the chick on the second lap.

Did the rest of you notice the absolute lack of umbrella girls and other such attractions this year?

Jimmy caught me by surprise on the ride by so sorry mate I couldn't zoom my camera out quick enough to get you in the frame but this shot showed the determination in your face huh!

Cool seeing the guys with their helmets off eh!

I'm not a professional photographer and I'm using my simple Olympus camera so hey, you can have these pics for free.

Then the racing got underway on time at 11.00. There were some codgy old guys racing as well as some younger guys.

Motu you'd have loved to see Paul Dobbs #198 on the Norton Commando racing.

In the first Formula Wanganui race I got a rare shot of Stroud leading Shirrifs, but it wasn't to last very long. Craig you made that bike hum. A great effort for sure.

Jimmy you were looking pretty good man and so was Sparky though he was a bit further back in the field but improving on his lap times I'm sure.

Then out came the 'tards and that guy Toby Summers #777 is quick on his Yamaha.

They had (and do have) bridges at other race events, which are usually export containers. I'm surprised this hasn't been the case at Wangavegas...? Would made the whole crossing thing easier...

A few more 'tard pics then Brian Bernard did a lap with a chick on the back popping wheelies on the back straight. Missed that with my camera except got him with just a wee bit of air, but then saw him kinda fluff it and damn near end up in the gutter and drop it down with a nasty scrape.

Then out came the sidecars. Paul in NZ probably knows the guys on #242 with Guzzi power. #46 towards the back of the grid is a friend of mine dating back to my school days and he was competing for the first time in a long time.

    Agreed.

You like my pics Col, and where were you all day, never ran across you?

Here's some more pics, continuing with sidecars and then the big boys came out again (to take their hard earned places on the grid eh Jimmy - not ).

This part of the racing was pretty good all the same, but I did think the 'tards were overdone and not really the best attraction for that circuit (and I'm saying that as a dirt bike enthusiast) so it was good to see the real race bikes out on track.

KBer's #17 and #20 rode in close formation for much of the race.

It may have been a smaller crowd than the last couple of years - well nothing was going to match the anniversary year - but you can see from these pics on the front straight a pretty packed crowd that had Motormouth asking them to step back from the fence instead of pressuring it.

Another lap and #17 and #20 are still at it.

There's Sean Donnelly #3 on his Z1 going bloody well for a supposedly only 107hp machine if you believe his story in BRM. In the fourth pic he's about to lap Shirrifs - oh or is that the other way round?

Last pic sees Jimmy finishing the race - well done that man .

    Off goes Formula 3 again.

Codgy #17 was pretty quick again and so was the Norton.

Terry Fitz #2 was out racing this time going well as usual.

Then it was Formula Wanganui and the big boys again.

That fellah on #56 was a bit quick - good on ya Craig - but Jimmy on #20 was looking good.

Then I finally went and had a squiz around the pits. As I said on another thread we did that while a couple of the 'tard races were on while we waited for the real bikes to come out again.

There's a pic of Stroudy and also one of Craig doing a TV interview. Jimmy if what I heard him say to the interviewer about how much horsepower that bike has is true no wonder everyone else has problems.

Paul in NZ there's that sidecar with a motor with cylinders at a funny angle and no fairing cover anyway and there's another sidecar with its cover off.

Then it was back to watch the racing and damn the 'tards were still going. Then out came the sidecars again.

More pics of the sidecars before the fast boys came out again.

There's Jimmy in the 5th pic peeling 4th in line onto the rail overbridge and going hard towards that corner in the 6th pic.

Hope I wasn't the only one taking pics of ya Jimmy but here's another couple of you with Stroud in between.

Then a pic of Craig #56 going past Her_B4's fellah isn't it on #33.

For a light interlude in memory of Robert Holden the Aluminium and Plastic Fantastics did a few laps

A few more pics of the Fantastics and the next pics I got were of the fast boys again in the last leg of the Robert Holden Memorial.

There's Jay on #37 with #M Matt Sadowski on his tail and #G is the Aussie Gareth Jones.
