I was on the Bunnings side of the front straight and didn't get a good view of it, but I was around by the cemetery sitting under the trees later when Sellar lost his swinger Minnell and the poor bugger flipped over a few times as he skidded down the road and lost a glove in the process. Not sure how he fared either but he got up OK and walked off the track but later they took him away in the ambulance no doubt as the shock set in. What I didn't see is what happened to Sellar once he'd gone around the corner and over the bridge. The yellow flags came out so did he flip the sidecar without his swinger on it?
    Cheers

Nah, he made it through a corner or two and realised on the start line straight and pulled over (I saw that part). My mate was further back on the track and grabbed the swinger from through the fence cause he reckoned he was about to walk back on to the track into the rest of the oncoming sidecarts!! (bit dazed!!).

OMG, those are some fantastic photos. Great colour, sharpness and DOF.

What camera and lense was that?

Agreed he got some very good shots there and plenty of them.

I see he lists the camera as a Canon EOS - nice one for sure.

He went into the bales on the bridge when he couldn't make the turn

And let's not forget the three Hells Angles that somehow broke through a barrier and rode a few hundred metres anti-clockwise (as in towards the 2up demonstrator riders that were on the track at the time).

I thought something like that happened because the yellow flags came out.

Fantastic images Merv, thankyou so much.

It's reminded me of what a spectacular day I had, the most intense racing I've had the pleasure of experiencing. Just look at the size of those eyes! I didn't blink once in any race.

Cheers, I wasn't really thinking of your eyes as I posted those pics but looking back man you do look focussed especially in this one http://www.kiwibiker.co.nz/forums/at...5&d=1198729306

Carl Fogarty wouldn't have dicked with you if you'd looked at him like that - him being famous for his stare.

As a Brit who came down specially for the racing I thought it was bloody mint. The crowds weren't huge and that is not such a bad thing, but the racing was top notch especially Glen Williams and Toby Summer.

Yeah he did eh, but it was a bit hard to enjoy it fully, as he was in the paper before saying he didn't like the circuit and didn't want to race but had to, and was only there because Paeroa was not part of the trophy race and he wanted that trophy.
