Though it was fantastic, in a masochistic spectator type way, when he fucked up somewhere and came past us just before the Ss in fourth and well back instead of 1st, and then to watch him fly through there so much faster than the others as he rapidly regained his position out the front!

But by far the best spectatoring was inside turn 1 for the sidecars. First up we saw the crash and some of the aftermath until an ambulance had the nerve to block our view of the fisticuffs!

But the Guzzi coming through that corner crossed up and hard on the gas was fantastic, and those around me mentioned missing the old Triumph sidecar...... which was heard throughout the day ..... think Wanganui has lost a crowd favourite there

I've spent a little time comparing the results from the last 2 years ( laptimes on mylaps) and some of the comparisions are quite interesting.

The track was a little slower this year probably to it not getting as much heat into it due to the wet spells.

Codgys old bike from last year went around the track faster than his new silver bullet this year .

Terry Fitzgerald did a faster lap this year than last year.

Last year the outright lap record got broken with several riders going under the 50 second barrier this year no one broke 50sec. (Correction Craig Shirrifffffs went under in two seperate races)
So heres a question for you experts whats quicker around Wangas a 600 a 750 or a 1000? Its the old power VS handling debate again sorry

    Answer my own question.

The 1000 has 1 year on suspension tech on it, better tyres and the tracks slower right?

I dunno Gary...compare lap time parity at nats between superbikes and supersport last season...would be best comparision you would have...

Just talking Wanganui here Ryan. Maybe the track was ok and the riders were all slower.

Or they were actually racing, and not going out to break lap records?

Don't know, didn't see last year, but there might be something in the fact there were lots of battles going on.
At the end of the day the magic #56 came fling from 4th after an err, to 1st. So that little fact in itself proves... well, Craig is a crack hot rider. Shame Hayden Fitzgerald couldn't do the same on the CBR
